Managing allocated areas to ensure that contractual requirements are met as stipulated by the employer.
Ensuring that all relevant security officers on site meet the required tactical requirements.
Planning, managing and executing high-risk security operations.
Constantly evaluating the service levels provided and making recommendations to improve where and when required.
General management and supervision of specialised security staff to ensure that required performance is met at all times.
Dealing with all required administration matters.
Liaising daily with management on various operational issues.
Ongoing liaison with the Security Manager, relevant third-party Security providers and relevant government security role-players.
Ensuring that all HR-related queries are dealt with promptly, and formulate disciplinary actions.
Submitting relevant weekly/monthly incidents and general reports to Management.
Investigating incidents and reporting on such.
Pro-active planning on various sites and mining processes.
Responsible for operations on the mountain and underground.
Requirements
Matric/Grade 12 Certificate.
Degree/Diploma in policing, security, military studies or business management will be advantageous.
Specialised training in a policing, security or military environment will be advantageous.
PSIRA Grade A registered (if not then must be in place within 1 month of employment).
Minimum 5 years’ experience in security/law enforcement/military environments.
Minimum 5 years’ experience in planning, managing and executing security/law enforcement/military operations.
Experience in mining and mining operations from a security perspective will be advantageous.
Experience in providing high-risk security/law enforcement training will be advantageous.
Experience in intelligence management will be advantageous.
Working knowledge of the Firearms Act and must have firearm competency and business purposes (can be completed after being appointed if currently employed in government security structures).
Staff management experience
Computer literacy with knowledge of the complete Microsoft package.
Sound planning, administration, interpersonal communication and client liaison skills are required.
Strong leadership and organisational skills as well as good interpersonal and communication skills
Successfully undergo polygraph examination before employment and on a regular basis
No criminal record (Police clearance form if available)
Must have great communication skills
Valid certificate of physical fitness
Valid driver’s license with own reliable transport is required.
Perform the job as outlined in the work order and as per the detailed task list.
Capture history and complete the notification to the required standard.
Confirm work order with the correct time and details to the required standard.
Provide feedback to the Maintenance Supervisor on any tasks where there is a difference between the task instruction and the job requirements
Communicate if spares, equipment or other factors were not available for the job on the work order and to the Maintenance Supervisor.
Conduct fault finding on defective equipment where required.
Ensure adherence to health and safety, environment, quality and housekeeping in section
Apply fault-finding techniques, conduct root cause failure analysis and regular plant inspections
Maintain and repair mechanical parts, components and equipment
Comply with (Occupational Health and Safety Act) OHSA and (Mine Health and Safety Act) MHSA standards, ensure that installations comply with statutory regulations, conform to safety standard and planned maintenance system requirements
Attend to brake- down effectively and safely.
Ensure availability of spares by adhering to Rotables procedure where applicable.
Comply with Health and Safety Regulations as per Barberton Mines Organizational Requirements
Requirements
NQF 4 (National Senior Certificate or Grade 12 or Adult Senior Certificate) with English literacy or N2 in Engineering studies.
Completed formal Learnership programme prior to obtaining a fitter artisan trade certificate as recognised by the MQA.
Minimum 5 year’s experience as a Fitter Artisan within a plant environment specifically focussed on maintaining mills.
Experience and qualifications for operating a lathe will be advantageous
Qualified with trade papers (Section 13 or 26D)
Valid certificate of physical fitness
Ability to read and write in English
Be able to work shifts and call outs
Own Transport as position requires standby
Drivers License
