    Officer: Purchasing Operations

    Minimum Requirements: 

    • Grade 12; 
    • National Diploma in Finance / Supply Chain Management / Business Admin / Public Admin or related field at NQF level 6; 
    • 1 – 3 years’ experience with Supply Chain Management environment. 

    Primary Function:

    • To render an efficient and procurement functions necessary for timeous and effective procurement of goods and services.  

    Key Performance Areas: 

    • Plan and organize all activities relating to RFQ purchases for goods and services; 
    • Capture daily Purchase Order (on computer); 
    • Provide support the Demand Management Unit; 
    • Provide communication and customer care.

    Operations Manager: Stores

    Minimum Requirements: 

    • Grade 12 plus a 3-year National Diploma in Logistics/Warehousing/Inventory Management/Financial Management (NQF level 6); 
    • 3 – 5 years of experience in Logistics, Inventory/Warehousing Management, or Procurement in the National, Provincial, or Local Government environment.  

    Primary Function:

    • Manage, control and administer the daily operation of Group Strategic Supply Chain Management Stores within the City of Johannesburg.  

    Key Performance Areas: 

    • Manage all operational activities relating to inventory management and control within GSSCM Stores; 
    • Financial management and administration; 
    • Stock audits; 
    • Liaison and communication with stakeholders to communicate any suggestions, feedback, or problems; 
    • Liaise with all relevant stakeholders in the City regarding inventory management within GSSCM Stores. 
    • Manage staff in such a way that human resources are used to full capacity;

    Assistant Director: Committee Facilitation & Management

    Minimum Requirements: 

    • Grade 12 plus a Bachelor's Degree in Administration/Business Studies or Business Management or Supply Chain Management or Law (LLB)/Commerce/Administration (NQF level 7); 
    • 6 - 8 years’ appropriate experience in local government or similar environment, of which 2 – 3 years at middle management.  

    Primary Function:

    • Plan, manage, control and oversee the effective functioning and operational efficiency of the Supply Chain Management Committee System section within the City of Johannesburg. Assist the Deputy Director: Committee Systems in the development and implementation of the strategic vision in line with the vision of the SCM Unit across clusters.

    • Perform specific tasks/activities associated with the provision of administration and secretarial support;

    Deputy Director: Data Governance

    Minimum Requirements: 

    • Grade 12 / NQF level 4 plus Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, MIS or Information Management or Business Management or similar at NQF level 7; 
    • 7 – 9 years overall experience in the discipline, of which 4 years’ experience at the middle management level; 
    • Code 8 driver’s license. 

    Primary Function:

    • Direct, lead and manage Revenue Management data governance activities and has the responsibility for improving the quality and managing the protection of sensitive data and information assets. This position will focus on establishing and ensuring adherence to an enterprise data governance framework for data policies, standards and practices, both at the department and Business and Functional area level, to achieve the required level of consistency, quality and protection to meet overall business needs. The Deputy Director: Data Governance further serves as a point of escalation for governance, data quality and protection issues and will work closely with Business and functional area leadership to improve the quality and values of core data assets, respond to regulatory protection requirements, as well as support the strategic requirements of the department. 

    Key Performance Areas: 

    • Contribute to the development of the Directorate's functional strategic planning; 
    • Lead the development of the sub-directorate operational planning process; 
    • Lead and facilitate the sub-directorate performance management planning process; 
    • Lead and manage the development of the Sub directorate Individual learning Plans (ILP’s process; 
    • Organize both human and non-human resources for effective implementation of the sub-directorate organizational structure; 
    • Leading the Recruitment, Selection & Placement process for sourcing of suitably qualified staff for the Sub-Directorate; 
    • Lead and direct the development of Data Governance and its functions; 
    • Ensure effective control of the sub-directorate of Human Resources; 
    • Ensure effective control of the Financial Resource of the Sub Directorate; 
    • Ensure effective asset management and control of the Sub-directorate; 
    • Implement good governance and effective risk management systems; 
    • Ensure effective stakeholder relations and Communication with the sub-directorate; 
    • Ensure effective monitoring and reporting of the sub-directorate; 
    • Manage specific administrative and reporting requirements associated with the sub-directorate and individual performance;
