    Millwright - Delmas

    PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

    • The purpose of the Millwright will be to be responsible for the maintenance and repairs of electrical and mechanical equipment onsite with the responsibility and accountability of ensuring the continuous operation of all equipment and  installations hereby ensuring the effectiveness of the department’s Maintenance System.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Inspect machines for faults and report on or repair faulty conditions. 
    • Complete maintenance schedules and inspections.   
    • Remove and install equipment where and when required. 
    • Overhaul machines by stripping, examining, replacing and repairing faulty parts, then reassemble and replace overhauled machines. 
    • Assist supervisor in maintaining equipment and machinery in a safe and operational condition according to McCain Loss Control and Maintenance Policies. 
    • Maintain and service all agricultural and conveying systems and equipment to ensure maximum availability. 
    • Building up electrical panels, ready for installation.
    • Commission new installations or alterations ensuring that it is operational and may be used safely. 
    • Diagnose cause of breakdown and repair faults on site where possible. 
    • Communicates problems or changes in the department to team lead and appropriate personnel
    • Performs 5S visual management and proactive plant/workspace walkabouts, to identify threats

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • Minimum requirement is a Millwright Red Seal (Trade Test), 
    • Atleast 3-5 years’ experience in a multi-disciplinary engineering environment within a FMCG Industry, preferably within the Food Industry
    • Preference will be given to candidates with a nated N4 – N6 qualification
    • Working knowledge of PLC hardware and 480V circuits
    • Understanding and experience in instrument calibration (i.e. level, pressure, flow transmitters, control valves); or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Familiarity with the use of a structured CMMS, such as SAP PM.
    • Sound organizational skills in completing prioritized work activities
    • Ability to program Allen Bradley Variable Frequency Drives (advantageous)

    Field Raw Quality Co-ordinator - Delmas

    PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

    • This person will mainly be responsible to coordinate, manage and performing daily field sampling activities (onsite and offsite) to provide early feedback on potato quality and field to highlight yield risks.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Assist with daily operations of end-to-end processes in RMI from receiving, grading, storage and utilization of Raw Material in line with production requirements with a focus on Tare Sampling and Grading.
    • Provide support to the Planning and Logistics Coordinator to ensure operational continuity
    • Drive quality related projects along with the field services team.
    • Provide insight into grading trends and technical acumen as recommendations in order to mitigate risk.

    REQUIREMENTS:

    Global Data Governance Specialist - Fixed Term Contract

    As the Global Data Governance Specialist, you will…

    • Ensures global processes are followed and leverage global tools to govern data in a way that is consistent and standardized.

    Storeman - Springs

    PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

    • Responsible for the receiving, storing, securing, and picking of all finished goods.

    KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

    Stacking and Storing of Finished Goods

    • Responsible for supplying the clerks with empty storage bin locations to receive finished goods from packing.
    • Responsible for verifications of previous day packed stock comparing with receiving documents.
    • Responsible for stacking finished goods from packing.
    • Responsible for housekeeping in the Cold Stores, ensuring there’s no clutter and that all pallets are stacked accordingly.
    • Responsible for not allowing any product into the Cold Store without an SU label and location.

    Picking of Finished Goods for the 3PLs

    • Responsible for picking finished goods as per picking slip provided by the team leader.
    • Responsible for stacking all returned products accurately as per location allocated.
    • Responsible for picking pallets which are in good condition to send to the customer.

    Stacking and Storage Practices

    • Comply with all stacking and storing principles, provide a place for everything and everything in its place.
    • Responsible for safe stacking all pallets in the Cold Store as per stacking exemption.
    • Ensure that no damaged pallets and cases are stored and stacked in the Cold Store.
    • Ensure that all safety hazards or unsafe conditions are reported to the PWS Team Leader immediately.
    • Complete daily warehouse inspection form and submit it to PWS Team Leader.

    Safety, Housekeeping and General GMP`s

    • Perform daily Reach Truck inspection, record, and report all non-conformances.
    • Ensure that the daily warehouse inspection is conducted and recorded on the inspection sheet.
    • Responsible for following all safety rules of the company, with regards to wearing the correct company supplied PPE.
    • Attend and contribute to daily departmental safety talks.

    Perform Ad-Hoc Tasks

    • Carry out any reasonable request as and when required by the PWS Team Leader.

    EXPERIENCE & REQUIREMENTS

    Experience

    • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in storekeeping and stock control in a FMCG plant manufacturing food industry environment.
    • Experience should be in storekeeping and stock control with strong focus on Stock control, equipment safety
    • Grade 12/Matric with Mathematics/Accounting
    • Perform daily reach truck inspections
    • Minimum of two years’ experience in a similar position in a food processing facility

    Environmental Officer - Springs

    PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

    • The Environmental Officer in support to the Environmental Manager is responsible for the coordination, administration and coaching to successfully manage the ISO14001:2015 Environmental Management system to ensure compliance to environmental legislative requirements, alignment to ISO14001:2015 certification standards and drive improvements at the McCain Foods plants for Delmas and Springs relative to the management system.

    KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

    Management of ISO14001:2015 policies, procedures, legislation and regulation for Delmas and Springs

    • Monitor environmental compliance to current policies, procedures, registers, legislation and regulation for Delmas and Springs
    • Continuous monitoring of updates in legislation which might impact procedures, policies, permits and licensing. Communicate to Environmental Manager
    • Attend Environmental Forum meetings
    • Renew any environmental licensing / permits before expiration
    • Coordinate and schedule environmental surveys based on environmental compliance requirement
    • Apply for any updated environmental licensing / permits as and when required

    No major audit findings for environmental compliance ISO14001:2015 with relation to internal audits and external audits (Environmental legal compliance audits, WUL audits, ISO14001:2015 EMS audits, department of water and sanitation audits and Global Environmental compliance audits)

    • Monitor compliance status via plant inspections, legal registers, internal plant-based registers, validity of all permits and licensing as per legislation and regulatory ISO14001:2015 requirement.
    • Report risks, loading of environmental incidents / non-conformances on intelex. Responsible for root cause analysis, corrective and preventative action.
    • Schedule and conduct environmental internal audits when and where required

    Environmental risk management

    • Environmental hazard identification

    • Implementation of risk control measures utilizing the environmental hierarchy of risk control

    Monitoring and evaluating environmental performance

    • Evaluate weekly and monthly third party contractor reports. Report any deviations to Environmental Manager
    • Evaluate test results received from third party contractors in relation to our permit and licensing conditions and parameters. Reporting any deviations to Environmental Manager
    • Evaluate environmental survey outcomes and reporting deviations to Environmental Manager

    EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

    • Approximately 3 - 5 years relevant experience in a food production environment with experience in developing and continuous compliance to ISO14001:2015 Environmental Management systems.
    • Minimum 4 years ISO 14001:2015 internal audit experience or exposure
