Some responsibilities may include:

• Conduct simple and complex test independently.
• Verification of results independently and interpret data against known sources of information.
• Improve laboratory efficiency.
• Ensuring adherence to departmental TAT’s and early warnings to direct supervisor of any delay on TAT.
• Cleaning and disinfection of equipment.
• Responsible for upkeep of laboratory instrument and notification to management of calibration and service requests.
• Ensure that all analysis and related tasks are performance in accordance with OHS and Quality Assurance Policies and Procedures.
• Implementation of quality TAT corrective actions for area of responsibility.
• Maintaining acceptable proficiency scores for work conducted.
• Ensure correct stock levels are maintained effectively for testing.
• Managing consumable costs.
• Timely completion of all reporting requirements and responses to any team member as required.
• Other duties as assigned by the company within the Employee’s scope of work.

Requirements

• National Diploma in Biotechnology or BSC Degree in Microbiology.
• 1-2 years’ experience in microbiology laboratory.
• Preference will be given to employment equity candidates.

• Write SOP’s.
• Assist with method validations.
• Improve laboratory efficiency.
• Technical signatory of 80% to 100% of tests of own department.
• Ensuring adherence to departmental TAT’s and early warnings to direct supervisor of any delay on TAT.
• Oversee instrument operations.
• Responsible for the upkeep of laboratory instruments.
• Cleaning and disinfection of equipment.
• Notification to management of calibration and service requests.
• Ensure that all analysis and related tasks are performed in accordance with OHS and Quality Assurance Policies and Procedures.
• Root cause analysis and implementation of quality corrective actions for areas of responsibility.
• Maintaining acceptable proficiency scores for work conducted.
• Ensure correct stock levels are maintained effectively for testing.
• Managing consumable costs.
• Ensure good working relationships with internal and external clients.
• Other duties as assigned by the company within the employee’s scope of work.

Requirements

• National Diploma in Biotechnology or BSC Degree in Microbiology.
• Minimum 4 years’ experience working in a commercial microbiology laboratory.
• Previous experience as a SANAS technical signatory.
• Attended ISO17025 training.
• Computer literate.
• Preference will be given to employment equity candidates.

Some responsibilities may include:

• Responsible for the answering of customer questions accurately and timeously by call centre.
• Ensure utilization of sales techniques by call centre to maximize revenue opportunities.
• To resolve and log queries efficiently and within a professional timeframe and to ensure client satisfaction.
• Establish good relationships with clients, suppliers and internal staff.
• Call clients to verify details, answer questions and attempt to Lock in dates for their training.
• Follow up on delegates who did not submit all registration docs.
• Reschedule clients if they don’t attend course as scheduled.
• Do confirmation call a few days prior to the starting date of course.
• Request re-write & pre-requisite exemptions.

Requirements

• Matric.
• 1 - 2 years’ experience in a customer service / contact centre role.
• Recently graduated with a BSc, or qualification in Microbiology, Biotechnology, Food Technology, Food Science, Analytical Chemistry, Veterinary Technology.
• Experience or qualification in sales will be advantageous.
• Experience in the food industry laboratory will be advantageous.
• Fluent in English.
• Computer literacy (MS Office).
• Demonstrate teamwork as a valued team player.
• Preference will be given to employment equity candidates.
