    Finance Operations Manager

    So, what will you do?  

    • As our Finance Operations Manager, you’ll oversee and optimize critical financial functions, from accounts payable and receivable to payroll and treasury operations. Reporting directly to the CFO, you'll ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency while fostering a culture of continuous improvement. 
    • Your mission? Deliver operational excellence while driving strategic financial insights to support our rapid growth. 

    In addition to the above, you will:  

    Compliance 

    • Monitor and enforce internal controls while driving improvements. 
    • Oversee and manage the company’s financial ERP system (governance, automation, transaction processing). 

    Debtors 

    Review of outputs and exceptions arising from NB reconciliation processes performed by Debtors, including but not limited to: 

    • iKhokha-generated monthly transaction billing to merchants 
    • Generated daily hardware billing to merchants / other large debtors (i.e., Massmart Group, uSave, Boxer, Retail Capital, etc.) 
    • Monthly debit order billing for paid merchant software licenses 
    • Monthly prepaid/VAS billing 
    • Monthly 3rd party cash advance commission reporting and related billing 

    Creditors 

    Supervise and review of outputs and exceptions arising from NB reconciliation processes performed by Creditors, including but not limited to: 

    • Open purchase orders, accrual listings, and profit-share reporting. 
    • Asset register updates (additions, disposals). 
    • Vendor onboarding approvals. 

    Payroll 

    • Oversee monthly payroll, sales commission reports, expense claims, and salary capitalizations. 

    Logistics  

    • Assist the Logistics Manager in investigating stock count variances. 

    Statutory reporting  

    Lead statutory compliance, including: 

    • Full year-end audit management and statutory reporting (AFS, tax calculations). 
    • B-BBEE strategy execution. 
    • Review SARS submissions (VAT, PAYE, Income Tax). 
    • Support annual EE & WSP reporting. 

    Management Reporting 

    • Ensure timely submission of management accounts and shareholder reports. 
    • Streamline month-end/year-end processes to improve operational efficiency and reduce costs. 

    Qualifications

    • B. Comm / B. Bus Sci / equivalent financial qualification 
    • South Africa Institute of Chartered Accountants (CA (SA) 

    Deal Breakers:  

    • 5–10 years in Finance Operations Manager, Head of Financial Shared Services, or Financial Manager roles. 
    • Proven experience in fintech, financial services, or retail industries is a plus. 
    • Expert-level knowledge of MS Dynamics 365 (preferably Business Central). 
    • Comprehensive understanding of IFRS, IAS, and SA tax legislation. 

    In addition to the above, the following experience and business understanding will make you a frontrunner for the role:  

    • Expert knowledge of best practices for month-end/year-end close processes and internal controls. 
    • Proficiency in working with 3rd party debtors/creditors to optimize working capital. 
    • Exceptional MS Excel skills. 
    • Track record of leading internal/external audits with precision.

    Payroll Officer

    So, what will you do?  

    • Ensure the accurate and efficient management of the company’s monthly payroll. 
    • Bring your passion for numbers and problem-solving to optimize payroll processes, embrace cutting-edge solutions, and ensure our team is paid with accuracy and care. 

    In addition to the above, you will: 

    Employee Onboarding & Offboarding:  

    • Review of HR related documentation to ensure that all relevant payroll related documents are filed correctly, kept up to date and submitted to 3rd parties as required (i.e., employee IDs, tax numbers, bank account details, medical aid and group risk info, etc.) 
    • Assist Talent team in onboarding and offboarding employees from the company’s medical aid & group risk schemes. 

    Monthly Payroll:  

    • Ensuring that monthly payroll and any ad hoc payroll runs are processed accurately, efficiently and in accordance with SA tax legislation. 
    • Review of monthly commission reports generated by internal company sales and support team leaders and submission thereof to the Finance Operations Manager for final sign-off. 

    Investigation into any anomalies identified:

    • Capture and review all business-related expenditure incurred by employees and appearing on payroll. Conduct investigations into any unauthorised spend. 
    • Assistance with payroll forecasting for budget purposes. 
    • Generate reporting related to time/effort expended by Product team members for the purposes of capitalising internally generated intangible assets. 
    • Review leave pay and bonus provision balances and conduct investigations into any discrepancies identified (i.e., long outstanding leave, etc.) 
    • Generate and assist in submission of PAYE and other tax returns with oversight of the Finance Operations Manager. 
    • Escalation of any payroll system errors to Finance Operations Manager and Sage/3rd party consultancies where necessary. 
    • Engage with Sage/3rd party consultancies regarding continuous improvement to the company’s payroll system and processes. 

    Stakeholder Management:  

    • Act as the primary relationship manager between the internal HR team and ensure that any information affecting payroll is communicated timeously (i.e., new hires, terminations, in and out of cycle increases, change in medical aid details, etc.) 
    • Act as first line respondent to any employee queries regarding payroll (incl. investigation of payroll discrepancies, generation of dummy payslips, tax returns, etc.) 
    • Act as the primary relationship manager for 3rd party providers affecting payroll such as Discovery, PSG, Sage. 
    • Assisting the Finance Operations Manager & Learning Manager with implementing the company’s BEE strategy as it relates to skills development (incl. assistance with generation of the company’s annual workplace skills development plan and employment equity reporting for Dept. of Labour.  

    Qualifications

    • Business administration/finance degree or Diploma. 
    • 2-5 years of experience in a payroll dept.  

    Deal breakers: 

    • Excellent knowledge of tax legislation affecting employees’ take-home pay  
    • Prior experience in managing Discovery Medical Aid & Group Risk schemes would be favourable. 
    • Advanced MS Excel experience would be favourable. 
    • Prior experience with Sage 300 payroll software and MS Dynamics 365 Business Central or similar accounting package would be favourable. 

    Additional Skills & Knowledge: 

    • Self-starter / entrepreneurial and willing to get their hands dirty in a company with a scale-up culture.  
    • Ability to handle pressure and adapt to change in a dynamic, rapidly shifting environment.

    Marketing Traffic Manager

    So, what will you do?  

    • You will be  a servant-leader and natural facilitator for the Marketing Agile Teams.  
    • Facilitate, oversee and manage delivery of cross-functional teams within the agile marketing framework at iKhokha.  
    • You’ll be  responsible for making sure teams live by the values and practices of the Scrum/Kanban methodologies, which includes relevant coaching and guidance within the teams and with those who interact with the team. 

    In addition to the above, the following experience and business understanding will make you a frontrunner for the role: 

    • Guide the team and the organisation on how to use Agile/Scrum practices and values to improve customer service and user experience. 
    • Responsible for facilitating the adoption, implementation and sustainability of agile principles, processes, and practices; By supporting and coaching product owners, scrum teams and other interested stakeholders and integrating agile principles into team practices and work products. 
    • Instruct and model core agile principles of collaboration, prioritisation and team accountability, and visibility; ensure the consistent application of scrum methodologies across the organisation. 

    Team Formation: 

    • Build a safe and trusting environment where conflict can be managed in a healthy way without fear of blame 
    • Facilitate and improve communication, collaboration, decision making and conflict resolution 
    • Facilitation and/or oversight of Scrum ceremonies (Daily stand-ups, Sprint Planning, Sprint Review, Retrospectives and Backlog Refinement) 
    • Guide team in establishing normalised estimations and help them base sprint commitments on average velocity. 
    • Support the HOM/CD, Team Leads and Stakeholders in assessment, prioritisation and backlog grooming and management.  
    • Coaches the team on self-organisation to fill the intentional gaps left in Agile/Scrum frameworks and increase accountability in the team.  
    • Providing all support to the team using a servant leadership style wherever possible leading by example. 

    Drive Marketing Delivery: 

    • Facilitate getting the work done without coercion, assigning, or dictating the work ensuring that the team maintains focus on quality and continuous delivery. 
    • Ensure visibility of impediments/blocks, facilitate removal of impediments and communicate and/or initiate trade off discussions if required. 
    • Help teams and individuals clarify tasks / objectives and actions to achieve them. 
    • Assist with internal and external communication, improving transparency, and radiating information. 
    • Support Marketing Leads in prioritising the backlog regularly, making sure the highest valued items are being worked on each sprint. 
    • Support the Marketing and Team Leads in tracking changes to scope and their communicate of these changes to relevant stakeholders. 
    • Support the Marketing Leads, stakeholders and team in production planning and preparation. 
    • Generate and maintain team metrics, keeping track of and communicating teams’ sprint scope (based on average velocity), commitments and priorities. 
    • Assisting teams in alleviating any blocks of impediments, escalating if required, and managing and/or communicating any resulting trade-offs.  
    • Closely communicating and collaborating with Marketing Leads, stakeholders and teams to support and assist in facilitating the full project workflow and production cycle. 

    Qualifications

    • Degree/Diploma or other relevant qualification. 

     Deal Breakers:  

    • At least 2 years’ experience as a Project or Traffic Manager and/or Scrum Master. 
    • 3-5 years’ experience in a Marketing or Creative/Design Agency environment. 
    • Experience and knowledge of Agile principles and methodologies. 
    • Agile principles, values and the Agile Manifesto. 
    • Agile workflow methods: Scrum, Kanban. 
    • Scrum values, roles, theory and practices, servant leadership, facilitation and presentation, mentoring, conscious communication, conflict resolution, continuous improvement, collaboration and transparency. 

    Additional: 

    • Group facilitation approaches/formats e.g. Retrospectives, sprint plannings, backlog grooming. 
    • Experience working with Project Management Software (e.g. Monday.com, Trello, Jira, Height, Asana, Wrike). 
    • Experience collaborating with Creative and Strategic Marketing roles. 
    • Fintech understanding preferable but not essential.
