    One (1) Member To The Municipal Disciplinary Board

    TERM OF OFFICE AND REMUNERATION:

    • Members not employed in the public sector will be remunerated as determined by Council. All members are reimbursed for travelling and related expenses when required to travel to attend meetings.
    • Interested persons may not have any business or contractual dealings with Koukamma Municipality. This is to ensure the Disciplinary Board members remain independent from any Municipal Activities during the period of appointment on the Disciplinary Board.

    Requirements:

    • A member of a Disciplinary Board must: a) be a natural person; b) be a citizen or permanent resident of the Republic and resident in the province where the municipality is situated, and c) not be disqualified under sub-regulation 4(5). The Disciplinary
    • Board must submit a report under the signature of the Chairperson of the Disciplinary Board.

    THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS WILL BE AN ADDED ADVANTAGE:

    • LLB or other related qualification; Experience in financial and ethical misconduct investigations;
    • Experience in other Municipal Disciplinary Boards, and sound knowledge and experience of the local government sector.

    Invitation To Serve On The Audit Committe Of KouKamma Municipality

    Requirements:

    • Possess a Postgraduate in ICT, Postgraduate in Civil Engineering, Qualified Attomey or Advocate (LLB), or Relevant Qualification.. Proven technical expertise in the fields of Information Technology/Project Management/Performance Management, and Legal background.
    • Thorough knowledge of all legislation impacting upon Local Government. Understanding of Local Govermment issues and national development imperatives and best practices.
    • Candidates should also possess experience and knowledge, preferably relating to the following areas: Local Government Sector, Audit, Finance and Performance Management, Project Management, and Information Technology.

    Skills and Competencies:

    • Must possess strong and dynamic leadership skills. 
    • Must have analytical reasoning ability. Have good interpersonal and communication skills.

    DUTIES:

    • The Audit Committee is required to fulfil an oversight role in respect of the total administration and performance of Koukamma Municipality.
    • Advise the Municipal Council, the political office-bearers, the accounting officer, and the management staff of the municipality.
    • Review the Annual Financial Statements to provide the Council with an authoritative and credible view of the financial position of the municipal entity, its efficiency and effectiveness, and its overall level of compliance with applicable legislation.
    • Respond to the Council on any issues raised by the Auditor-General, perform duties as required by section 166 of the Local Government Municipal Finance Management Act of 2003.
