    Mechanical Design Engineer

    Mechanical Design Engineer

    • A leading engineering and manufacturing company is seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join its expanding engineering team based in Roodekop, Gauteng.
    • The successful candidate will be responsible for mechanical design, 3D modelling, manufacturing drawings and the development of innovative, cost-effective solutions across mining, industrial, power generation and custom fabrication projects.

    Minimum Requirements:

    • B.Eng. Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
    • Draughting qualifications/B.Tech candidates with a strong technical background in structural and sheet metal design may be considered.
    • 1–10 years’ experience in mechanical design and manufacturing environments.
    • Strong experience and passion for mechanical CAD design and sheet metal design/manufacturing, including laser cutting, bending and associated processes.
    • Experience with Autodesk Inventor and Vault is highly advantageous.
    • Experience with AutoCAD and other relevant CAD software.
    • Strong understanding of mechanical design principles and manufacturing costs.
    • Understanding of welding, welding procedures, NDT and applicable welding specifications.
    • Proven track record of previous design and engineering projects.
    • Knowledge of FEA, heat-loss calculations and flow calculations.
    • Good knowledge of engineering materials and material strength.
    • Strong understanding of mechanical components, tolerances and fits.
    • Ability to design within budgets and project timelines.
    • Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
    • Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
    • Conversational/proficient Afrikaans is required.
    • Ability to work independently and manage own time effectively.
    • Strong project management and organisational skills.
    • Willingness to relocate if required.
    • Ability to work full-time on-site in Roodekop, Gauteng.

    Advantageous:

    • Experience with Autodesk Inventor and Vault.
    • Experience in mining equipment design.
    • Experience within custom fabrication and manufacturing environments.
    • Experience with shipping container manufacture and modifications.
    • Experience in HVAC, power generation or hydraulics.
    • Experience with industrial component design.
    • Experience with sheet metal design and manufacturing.
    • Candidates with strong potential and willingness to learn may be considered for mentorship and progression into senior positions.

    Roles and Responsibilities:

    • Design mechanical components and systems, including consideration of tolerances and fits.
    • Produce component-level and general arrangement drawings.
    • Develop detailed 3D models and complete manufacturing drawings.
    • Prepare technical data and provide recommendations for resolving real-world engineering and design challenges.
    • Develop conceptual designs and renders for client proposals.
    • Assist with the development of mechanical systems and components from concept through to final production.
    • Ensure designs are innovative, practical, cost-effective and fit for purpose.
    • Develop and implement concepts rapidly in response to project requirements.
    • Consider manufacturing methods, materials and associated costs during the design process.
    • Work closely with manufacturing and engineering teams to ensure designs can be manufactured and implemented effectively.
    • Ensure designs comply with client specifications and functional requirements.
    • Manage design work according to project budgets and timelines.
    • Contribute to engineering solutions across mining, industrial and power-generation projects.
    • Report directly to the Engineering Manager.
    • Maintain accurate technical documentation and drawings.
    • Provide technical input and support throughout the manufacturing and production process.

    Structural Draughtsman

    Structural Draughtsman

    • A leading engineering and mineral process solutions company is seeking an experienced Structural Draughtsman to join its team in Witbank, Mpumalanga.
    • The successful candidate will be responsible for developing accurate 3D models, detailed structural drawings and layouts for fabrication, construction and installation, ensuring compliance with engineering designs, client requirements, codes and applicable standards.

    Minimum Requirements:

    • National Diploma (NDip) in Civil or Structural Engineering.
    • 3–5 years’ relevant draughting experience.
    • Strong proficiency in CAD software.
    • Strong understanding of structural steel, reinforced concrete, load paths and constructability.
    • Ability to develop 3D models from engineering inputs, 2D drawings and sketches.
    • Ability to read and interpret engineering calculations, specifications and design information.
    • Experience producing General Arrangement (GA), fabrication/shop, construction and as-built drawings.
    • Strong understanding of structural detailing and connections.
    • Knowledge of fabrication processes, erection sequences and site constraints.
    • Strong understanding of mining and mineral processing plant layouts.
    • Strong attention to detail and a high level of diligence and accuracy.
    • Strong spatial visualisation ability.
    • Good time management and ability to meet deadlines.
    • Strong communication and coordination skills for multidisciplinary engineering environments.
    • Strong problem-solving abilities.
    • Must have own reliable transport.

    • NDip in Mechanical Engineering.
    • Experience working on processing plants, conveyors and bins.
    • Experience within mining, mineral processing or heavy industrial environments.

    Roles and Responsibilities:

    • Develop detailed 3D structural models using Advance Steel as the primary software based on engineering inputs.
    • Develop 3D models from 2D drawings, sketches and engineering information.
    • Produce accurate General Arrangement (GA) drawings.
    • Produce detailed fabrication/shop drawings.
    • Produce construction and as-built drawings.
    • Prepare and detail structural connections.
    • Prepare reinforcement schedules, where applicable.
    • Prepare accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs).
    • Maintain the drawing register and revision control.
    • Ensure drawings accurately reflect the engineering design intent.
    • Coordinate drawings with other disciplines to identify and prevent clashes and constructability issues.
    • Participate in design reviews with engineers and the drawing office manager.
    • Collaborate closely with engineers, the drawing office and other project stakeholders.
    • Ensure all drawings comply with applicable SANS codes and standards.
    • Ensure drawings comply with client requirements and project specifications.
    • Ensure drawings comply with applicable Red Book, Yellow Book and Green Book requirements.
    • Provide technical drawing and design support to the workshop and site teams.
    • Assist with resolving drawing-related fabrication and site issues.
    • Update drawings to reflect site changes and modifications.
    • Provide accurate technical information to support fabrication, construction and installation.
    • Travel to project sites from time to time as required.
    • Ensure deliverables are completed accurately and within the required project timelines.
    • Minimise drawing errors, rework and resulting fabrication or site issues.
    • Maintain effective coordination with multidisciplinary teams to reduce clashes and construction delays.

    Financial Manager – Printing Industry

    • Our client, a well-established organisation within the commercial printing and print production industry, is currently seeking an experienced Financial Manager to join their team in Wynberg, Johannesburg.
    • The successful candidate will take responsibility for the organisation’s overall financial function, providing strong financial oversight, supporting strategic business decisions and ensuring effective financial controls.
    • This role will suit a commercially minded finance professional with strong analytical skills and experience within a fast-paced operational environment.

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Financial Manager, Finance Manager or similar senior financial role.
    • A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or a related field will be advantageous but is not essential.
    • Previous experience within the printing, manufacturing or production environment will be highly advantageous.
    • Sound understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting and applicable financial legislation.
    • Strong working knowledge of Pastel Evolution.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    Financial Management
