    Reporting Data Analyst

    Job description

    Main purpose of the role

    The main purpose of the role is to provide support to end users, ensure efficient operation of software solutions and develop reports according to business requirements. The candidate should have good problem solving skills, be able to work independently, design / develop / test and debug database queries.

    Qualification & Experience

    Required

    • BCom. Informatics / BSc. Computer Science or other Relevant IT qualification (e.g. MCSA/MCSD/ITIL)
    • At least 5 years MS SQL experience (Progress, MS SQL and any other DBMS) and good ability to write complex SQL queries and creating reports
    • At least 3 years’ experience in operational or technical support
    • Experience in report writing tools or BI tools – QlikView, Qliksense, PowerBI, SSRS and Crystal Report (3+ years)
    • Hands-on experience in MS Office Suite (with good experience in MS Excel – 4+ years)
    • Experience in data analytics, data modelling, business process modelling, business object modelling (3+ years).
    • Preferable
    • Exposure to software testing procedures
    • Exposure to project management
    • Exposure to software development processes
    • Business analysis and System analysis skills/experience (2 years)
    • SAP & Sharepoint experience (very advantageous)
    • ERP & Financial knowledge (very advantageous)

    Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

    Reporting 

    • Introduce new efficient/electronic reports to meet business requirements
    • Develop reports according to the business requirements using technologies available, within set standards and agreed deadlines
    • Monitor trends and accuracy of report data
    • Extract/Analyse reports and account for all data changes
    • Report on exceptions and suggest alternative solutions

    Software support 

    • Maintain accuracy and integrity of all data on system databases
    • Support the continuous enhancements of all company software (Asset management software and ERP systems)
    • Support integration between Financial system and Asset Management System
    • Administer and support handheld devices for data collection in the field
    • Support of Mapping API integration with Asset Management System
    • Support of Mobile Application integration
    • Carry out maintenance and support of applications
    • Perform daily system management standards, as well as support, implement and maintain standards

    Data Administration

    • Introduce controls when necessary to ensure compliance to processes and procedures
    • Ensuring data integrity on Africa and South Africa databases
    • Monitor and ensure database efficiencies (i.e. database locks etc.)
    • Communicates and applies data standards

    Other responsibilities

    • Interact with all departments and branches to ensure processes, procedures and reports are suitable to
    • meet business requirements
    • Assist in providing training to all staff on the ERP and Asset Management System (when required)
    • Produce system and user documentation during the development of applications and post release, respectively
    • Maintain procedure manual and update the manuals regularly
    • Assist in developing functional specifications and system design specifications for 3rd party suppliers
    • Sourcing of new technologies to enhance the business productivity
    • Conducts post-release review on systems and be responsible for feasibility study and maintain control of releases

    Accountant with Financial Control

    Job description

    Qualifications & Experience

    • B Comm. graduate with relevant Degree in Accounting
    • At least five year’s experience in an Accountant position
    • Must have atleast 2 year's experience as a Financial Controller
    • Must be computer literate with strong Excel skills
    • Portuguese speaking will be advantageous
    • Must have experience in dealing with foreign currencies

    Roles and Responsibilities

    • Support to the Financial Manager - Africa for the business units
    • Preparation of annual budgets and revised forecasts for the business units
    • Preparation for monthly financial review meetings and coordination of follow-up on action points arising
    • Maintain general ledger, including preparing journal entries, coding invoices, payroll entries, accounts analysis and general ledger reconciliations. Co-ordinate month end close off, setting up new accounts
    • Year – end and Month-end reporting
    • Assist outside auditors at year-end including preparation of schedules, invoices, and explaining supporting materials and procedures
    • Handling and controlling of all appropriate tax forms and reports with government agencies e.g. VAT, PAYE, Municipal Levies, etc
    • Update records for fixed assets register and all other financial documents as necessary
    • Implement any necessary controls
    • Prepare monthly financial statements to include preparing monthly balance sheet, income statement, report on changes in financial position/budget variances
    • Drafting of annual financials statements in accordance with international accounting standards
    • Research relevant country tax law and company law requirements
