    Electrician

    Job description

    Reporting to: Maintenance Manager

    Purpose of the job: To carry out electrical and mechanical repairs and maintenance to the plant.

    Responsibilities:

    • Inspection of all electrical and mechanical equipment on the site
    • Carrying out of scheduled preventative maintenance on electrical and mechanical equipment
    • Electrical fault finding and repairs
    • Installation and project work as required
    • Assist with repairs and maintenance (R & M) cost control
    • Site cleaning
    • Health and Safety committee

    Qualifications:

    • Grade 12 and relevant qualification
    • Passed relevant trade test (Electrician)

    Experience:

    • At least 2 years’ experience
    • Multi-skilled (mechanical, electrical)
    • Computer literacy and knowledge of PLC’s will be an added advantage
    • A wireman’s licence will be an advantage

    Competencies (knowledge, skills and attributes):

    • Ability to function in a team
    • Good communication skills (verbal and written)
    • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

    Other Requirements:

    • Be prepared to work outside normal working hours (breakdowns and standby)
    • Ability to work outside engineering boundaries into production
    • Own transport
    • Own tools

    Facilities Controller

    Job description

     

    Reporting to: Mill Manager

    Purpose of the job: To provide technical support with regards to the maintenance and planned preventive maintenance to the entire Milling Site

    Responsibilities:

    • Maintenance and repairs to buildings, roofs, walls, windows and the entire plant.
    • Maintenance of the plumbing system on site including storm water drains.
    • Painting of buildings where required and ensuring good upkeep and replacement of broken floor tiles as from routine inspections list
    • Participate in plant audits related to civil work to ensure timeous closure of raised issues.
    • Inspection of height accessory equipment, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements
    • Inspection and signing of tasks allocated to assistants
    • Supervising of assistants under direct control
    • Participating in planning, design and executing of all tasks related to civil work.
    • Check for faults and anticipate and when faults might arise and work effectively to minimise the impact so as not disrupt the running of the production process.
    • Develop a daily work schedule for all activities to be performed to ensure the smooth operation of the team in order to minimize down time and over time

    Experience/Qualifications:

    • 3-5 years supervisory and maintenance experience
    • Matric
    • Millwright Trade Test
    • Strong leadership qualities
    • Numerical ability
    • Good communication skills (verbal and written).
    • PC Literacy and the willingness to further your studies to ultimately meet the requirements of the position is needed within our organisation.

    Competencies (knowledge, skills and attributes):

    • Industry Knowledge – FMCG, includes legislation
    • Knowledge of the competitive environment

    Other Requirements:

    • Pressurised environment
    • Overtime required from time to time
