    Front End Developer

    Job description

    We’re looking for a frontend developer to join our growing e-commerce team at Babylonstoren.

    This is a Junior - Mid position, so we don’t expect you to have all the skills. Ideally, you will have at least a year or two of experience and some form of tertiary education.

    Technical Requirements

    • HTML & CSS
    • Javascript / Jquery
    • Fluent in both Afrikaans and English

    Beneficial (or what you can expect to learn on the job)

    • React (or other javascript frameworks like Angular / Vue)
    • Pattern Libraries / Atomic Design
    • Git / Bitbucket
    • Experience with any of the following:
    • RESTful API’s
    • Task managers (gulp / grunt)
    • Bundlers (webpack)
    • Package managers (npm / yarn / bower)
    • Testing Frameworks (Jest)
    • HTML Newsletters
    • An understanding of basic Agile methodologies
    • Experience in and ecommerce environment

    Interview process

    We will get in touch via email / telephonically to setup an interview with the e-commerce manager and at least one of our developers.

    If that goes well we do both a development exercise and a psychometric test.

    The primary purpose of the development exercise is to review your coding style and the psychometric test will really help us to determine whether or not you’ll be a good fit in the long term.
