Main Purpose of the Job

Responsible for providing financial support and the effective co-ordination of financial accounting processes, budgets, forecasts, supply chain management, management of project expenses, and the co-ordination and reconciliation of costing and recharge models for SIML departments with specific regard to streamlining costs and improving financial operating standards.

Education, experience and competencies required:

• Grade 12
• B.Com Accounting (and Information Systems is an advantage)
• At least 5 years’ experience in a general financial accounting environment.
• Min 2 years’ experience in project finance. Exposure to IT project finance is an advantage
• Min 2 years’ experience in supply chain management
• Experience in a hospitality/gaming environment an advantage.
• Analytical skills
• Reviewing - Assessing feasibility; assessing compliance; efficiencies
• Strong knowledge of accounting, project and supply chain systems, especially ERP systems
• Costing model development
• Proficiency in MS Office (Advanced skills in Excel)
• IFS Finance an advantage

Duties and responsibilities include:

• Compile and update a transparent cost model for SIML departments.
• Complete monthly transactional accounting activities and reporting for each SIML cost centre or department to ensure the financial performance and position of the company is accurate, up-to-date and complete.
• Monitor accounts to ensure that all charges and expenses, including intercompany, have been accounted for accurately and timeously.
• Track project expenses (including IT projects) to ensure expenses in line with budgets; and that these are accurately accounted for
• Investigate unusual variances relative to budget and previous year
• Prepare and upload monthly accrual and adjustment schedules taking into account capabilities of ERP system.
• Compile and update prepayment schedules across the group.
• Prepare monthly financial reports for cost centers, intercompany and projects, with relevant commentary.
