Job description

Purpose:

To provide management with independent assurance and advice regarding key projects and systems in order to contribute to the successful achievement of project objectives by:

• Identified key risks and issues early which enables project teams to operate proactively to mitigate risks;
• Making recommendations regarding design of controls; and
• Perform post-implementation system reviews

Requirements:

• Grade 12
• A tertiary level qualification (BCom/BSc) with any project management qualification is required

Ideally one of the following (or studying towards):

• Certification in Project Management (Prince 2, PMBok, PMP)
• Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)
• Certified Internal Auditor (CIA)
• Certification in Risk Management (CRISC or CRMA)
• Relevant systems development and project auditing experience OR
• Experience in Prince II/PMP/CAPM
• At least 3 – 5 years project management experience including
• Proven experience in IT general controls and application controls reviews would be advantageous

Knowledge of:

• Project Management methodologies
• System Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
• The internal audit and information systems audit process and standards
• GAAP and GAAS, proficiency in accounting principles and techniques in working with financial reports
• Business products, processes, policies and systems
• Management principles to recognise and evaluate the materiality and significance of deviations from good business practice
• The fundamentals of accounting, economics, commercial law, taxation, finance, quantitative methods and information technology
• IT systems and data analysis/computer assisted audit techniques and tools (CAATS)
• Frameworks (Prince 2, PMBOK and Cobit)
• Communication skills (written and verbal) in English
• Computer literacy (Intermediate MS Word / MS Office, Advanced Excel)
