As a Test Technician, you will be responsible to carry out Factory Acceptance Testing in substation automation test department ensuring the accurate testing of protection and control schemes. Your tasks as a Test Technician will include the following:
The testing of advanced protection and control schemes.
The commissioning of the above schemes.
The preparation and conducting of client factory acceptance tests.
The formulation of test reports and procedures.
Controlling the testing activities by ensuring adherence to the approved procedures.
Ensure all testing activities are in accordance with the prescribed health, safety and environmental policies.
Provide internal and external customer technical support by liaising with relay manufacturers.
Mentoring and development of junior engineers, technicians and students.
Requirements
Ideally you must have diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification
should be registered at ECSA or be eligible for registration coupled with 2 to 3 years of working experience in Power Systems Protection and Control environment with emphasis on testing and commissioning.
You should have good technical knowledge and understanding of the operation of modern test equipment and must be willing to work from time to time after hours to complete tasks, have a good communication and interpersonal skills, combined with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels, as well as excellent writing skills, analytical thinker along with some proficiency in MS office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) will make you an ideal match for this role.
