Purpose:

Reporting to the Server Core Tech Lead, the successful candidate will be required to research, design and implement all of DOS’s core enterprise infrastructure services

Duties will include, but not limited to:

• Sit frequently with Infrastructure manager to understand current business requirements
• Translate requirements into technical solutions providing proof of concepts where necessary ï‚· Analyse current infrastructure and actively seek ways to innovate and optimize our systems through self-initiated projects.
• Support and maintain all of DOS’s core hardware infrastructure.
• Ensure monitoring is in place to detect failure or potential failure of all DOS systems including but not limited to Servers, Storage and Data Centre services such as UPS, Air-con and Generators.
• Work closely with other Infrastructure teams to understand their requirements or challenges and match their needs with solutions available.
• Promote the services available from Server Core team to other teams within the DOS Technology team.
• When required work closely with the Enterprise Architect team to facilitate the alignment of future needs with the infrastructure already deployed within DOS
• Proactively research new technologies to ensure DOS stays ahead of the curve when it comes to core server infrastructure solutions.

Essential Requirements:

• A Relevant Information Technology tertiary qualification and Microsoft Certifications
• Minimum 8 years’ experience in the Information Technology industry using Microsoft Technologies.
• Previous experience in 24/7 E-commerce Environment.

Job Requirements:

• Proven track record of initiating, designing and implementing major infrastructure solutions single handily.
• Proven first-hand experience with networking technologies including Switching, Routing, Firewalling, Load Balancing.
• Proven first-hand experience working with enterprise grade hardware including Servers, SAN’s, Fibre Channel Switches and other Data Centre Services.
• Proven experience in using scripting or software solutions to automate or reduce administrative work.
• Ability to translate business needs into possible viable technology solutions.
• Project management skills with proven experience in handling big system migrations or implementation working both as a member in a team as well as on his/her own.
