Your tasks and responsibilities

The Master Data Team Leader leads the Master Data team to ensure the correctness and consistency of data in compliance with the standards of the Company and adjusting to the customers needs. The proper completeness and consistency of the supply chain master data is a prerequisite for efficiently running operative processes. Guarantees alignment with Global MD partners and Business Partners.

Major Tasks and Responsibilities

Responsible for approving and supervising the creation, maintenance and phase out of all articles in both Global systems using Bayer tools 4MAT & CAP, as well as the local SAP system (P4S) for Southern African business (includes BCS, BES, BHC & Active Tolling), including saleable goods, formulations, intermediate codes, raw materials and packaging

materials.

Checking and approving :

the calculation, creation, maintenance and phase out of bills of materials to ensure accurate purchasing, formulation and packing of all saleable goods and to reduce stock redundancies due to invalid data.

PGS creation in SAP OS3,

Release of these BOM’s in SAP PBC system to the local SAP P4S system. This ensures correct requirements, purchasing, production as well as Packaging Directives in the plant for production and quality control.

Manual Packing directives for BHC business.

• Executing and supervising required changes to documents in response to varied scenarios, including raw material changes, formulation changes, packaging material changes and processes, transport regulations, as well as global requirements in respect of suppliers,
• legislation and safety requirements.
• Collaborate with Local as well as Global teams with regards to Industrialisation processes to ensure that required data is consolidated and Master data is timeously available.
• Continuously run predefined checklists to monitor data consistency and ensure any deviations are investigated and corrected as required.
• Support and manage projects where Master Data processes are included.

Qualifications:

• Matriculation certificate, with maths & science
• Relevant tertiary qualification would be an advantage
• Relevant code B or higher drivers licence an advantage

Experience:

• Proven operational Master Data maintenance experience
• 3-5 Years’ Experience in relevant SAP modules – Material Management i.e. Purchasing, Inventory, MRP, Bills of Material and ABAP reporting.
• Ability to lead a team and 3-5 years in a supervisory role.

Skills & Knowledge:

• Expert level knowledge of material data management.
• Ability to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines and work independently in a fast paced environment.
• Ability to address and drive problem solving with a sense of urgency.
• Leadership skills to enable the proper leadership & development of
• the team.
• Customer orientated.
• Ability to summarise information and communicate effectively.
• Expert knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel required with strong knowledge in Microsoft PowerPoint.
• IT Systems: Lotus Notes (4MAT), SAP OS3, PBC & P4S, Business Analyser, Netweaver (GRIP, CAP, LDOS) an advantage.
