    Territory Account Manager

    Job description

    Job Summary

    The Red Hat Sales team is looking for a Territory Account Manager to join us in Cape Town, South Africa. In this role, you will manage a large number of enterprise accounts, with a specific focus on the region. You'll be assigned a pool of customers to uncover new opportunities to sell Red Hat solutions, including Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), Red Hat Virtualization, Red Hat JBoss Middleware, Red Hat Consulting, and our cloud solutions. You'll also identify, nurture, and close sales opportunities with new and existing customers, while working with internal and external partners to improve business and create solutions that serve the best interests of both our customers and Red Hat.

    Primary Job Responsibilities

    • Identify, qualify, and close sales opportunities in the region via phone calls
    • Focus on generating leads and searching for potential clients
    • Map the sales approach to specific customer needs
    • Answer sales queries and process leads in accordance with Red Hat's service level agreements
    • Meet and exceed assigned sales quota, grow existing customer relationships, and acquire new businesses; host client or partner meetings
    • Engage with partners, end users, and distribution on a daily basis to develop and close both new and existing opportunities
    • Manage forecasts, record sales activities, and track customer data using customer relationship management (CRM) tools
    • Send proposals and quotes of specific solutions to gain new customers and upsell and cross-sell into existing accounts
    • Maintain a knowledge of the industry, as well as Red Hat's competitive position
    • Follow administrative procedures to ensure renewal targets are met or exceeded

    Required Skills

    • Solid understanding of complete sales cycle management, from prospecting to closing
    • Experience with the partner base in the location
    • Experience in a similar technology or software sales position, e.g., outside, inside, phone, or channel sales
    • Demonstrated track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets
    • Motivated and focused on delivering results and services, with a positive outlook
    • Ability to build long-term relationships with customers through trust and credibility
    • Excellent time management and organizational skills
    • Comfortable with cold calling and focusing on generating leads
    • Experience using a CRM systems like Salesforce.com
    • Experience in the IT sector is a plus
