About The Position

A well-established international speciality Agrochemical manufacturer and distributor requires the above to promote the sales and interests of the company within the Agricultural Industry.

The Successful Candidate Will Be Responsible For

• Developing and implementing product demonstrations in field and region so as to support the overall sales and marketing strategy.
• Attaining sales target within the region
• Assisting the Area team with first line of contact with the customer (dealer, agent, grower) in terms of technical support, recommendations and training.
• Investigating, understanding, capturing and communicating aspects of key crop production.
• Supporting Area team with implementation of regional business strategies and plans consistent with overall marketing and sales strategy.
• Implementing agreed demonstrations and infield marketing trials and activities to influence and support sales record and collate information and data to support all product performance.
• Support Marketing with relevant data for development of promotional marketing material
• Focussing resources on key growers and key influencers in the food/feed chain - creating pull approaches in support of the area team.
• Identifying key crop, product and market opportunities and threats.
• Developing the competence, motivation and commitment of Dealers and Agents through effective training, promotion and sales support aids.
• Keeping abreast of market, trade and competitor activity in order to revise strategies to meet changing requirements.
• Ensuring market information accuracy in system for allocated crops with area team .
• Promoting and introducing products as well as creating demand for the comprehensive range of products.
• Compiling quotations, presentations and negotiations.
• Establishing demo trials and engaging/collaborating with stakeholders.
• Marketing intelligence and gathering crop production information.

Minimum Requirements For The Role

• A relevant tertiary qualification such as B -Tech or National Diploma or BSc Agriculture or related with Agronomy or Horticulture or Soil Science as major subjects or relevant experience is essential.
• Previous agriculture experience is essential.
• Previous sales experience is preferred.
• Experience in fertilizer would be advantageous but not essential.
• Experience in seed, crop protection etc. would be beneficial.
• Good understanding, experience and knowledge of good agronomic practices.
• Broad technical knowledge of crops, products and farming practices.
• Basic trial design and agronomic crop production understanding.
• Crop production background and experience.
• Sound ability to communicate effectively across all levels.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Computer literacy is essential with good working knowledge of Microsoft packages.
