    Risk Officer

    Job Description

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Assist with the designing, implementing and managing of an overall risk strategy for the organisation.
    • Assist with the risk assessment, which involves analysing; identifying and estimating the risks affecting the business. Ensure that pro-active interventions are implemented to address areas of risk.
    • Gather information for monthly risk reporting to the various stakeholders.
    • Conduct risk audits at Corporate and Branch level. Address areas of risk pro-actively based on the results of the audits.
    • Assist with the monitoring of; and FAIS registration of advisors.
    • Provide support to internal clients with risk matters and legislation related to areas of risk. Create a culture of pro-active risk management within client facing areas.
    • Ensure risk processes are in place and highlight areas where process, people and technology may potentially be a risk area for SPW.
    • Assist with complaints register.
    • Assist with administration related to the Risk Forum.
    • Assist with management around cyber-crime processes.

    Minimum Requirements:

    • B Com (Law) or equivalent in risk & financial services
    • 4-5 years risk and auditing experience
    • Fully bilingual
    • Previous experience within investments / financial services will be a distinct advantage

    Technical Competencies:

    • Computer literate in MS Office (JSE BDA system knowledge would be an advantage)
    • Working knowledge and application experience of Financial Markets Legislation
