Job description

The Storeman will assist the Supply Chain Lane to control materials to ensure it efficiently move raw/finished product within & outside warehouse environment. Ensure that documentation, labelling, palletization and presentation are done accurately. To be responsible for movement/storage of product, unload/load trucks and monitor key performance indicators such as movements, damage, on time issuing and storage. Ensure the warehouse & equipment is cleaned to standard on a daily/regular basis.

• Communicate and analyse production plan for the month.
• Print Job cards and create production pack (pleater and sub-assemblies requisitions).
• Pick inventory (FIFO) from storage location and kit via trilogic system.
• Perform sub-inventory transfer (AOU to AFLINE locator) using barcode scanner.
• Complete issuing information on job card per line item.
• Communicate with Production team leader to receive and issue material for all jobs – sign off.
• Responsible for gathering all documents and capture scrap and shrinkage once production completes a job.
• Input information onto stock adjustment sheet and obtain approval first, then capture in Oracles.
• Hand completed job cards to production planner for close off.
• Excess material must be returned to stores and stored in correct locators.
• Kit complete MO –jobs 3 days ahead.
• Receive and receipt all goods for Filtration (follow receiving procedure).
• Receiving to done via Oracle, Nexus Terminal or Barcode Scanner.
• Print Barcode label for each delivery and stick on goods received.
• Transfer stock via scanner from dock locator to storage (racking) locator.
• Record all transactions in manual book and copies of each delivery note to be filed.
• Inspect and report damages and low stock levels to the Materials Planner.
• Ensuring that all consumables (especially flammable) are stored correctly and safely.
• Making sure all material to be stored in correct locators.
• Perform daily cycle count (follow cycle count procedure).
• Prepare and perform API as per the procedure.
• Reduce negative inventory (root cause analysis and adjustments) timeously.
• Liaise with production staff, maintenance staff to ensure the smooth running of the shift.
• Demonstrate and promote a proactive commitment to health & safety.
• Operate and maintain forklift, order picker and reach truck (complete daily check list).
• Always maintain good, safe and clean work environment.

Requiremnt and Experience

• Matric / N3
• Computer Literate ( Must)
• Stock Controller or materials management experience
• Barcode Scanner Operations (Must)
• Forklift and reach truck experience (Must have license)
• Previous warehouse or store experience is an advantage
• Advanced problem solving and fault finding abilities
• Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong organisational and planning skills
• Ability to manage all aspects of the role in a pressurised environment
• Knowledge and application of Industrial and personal safety behaviours
