Main function of job: (Note: In addition to these functions employees are required to carry out such other duties as may reasonably be required)

• Develop the processes to establish a competent and efficient Tender and Pricing group
• Manage all tender and pricing related activities
• Manage the identification, co-ordination, preparation and submission of Tender documentation
• Manage internal resource and acquire broad knowledge of product offering to ensure successful bid
• Project manage the tender after award and maintain a up-to-date database on all active tenders
• Respond to ongoing internal and external customer enquiries regarding contracts and pricing
• Formulary tendering and submissions, actively manage the database
• Perform all associated Management Reporting
• Build and manage relationships with key provincial tender boards/committees and private funding groups.
• Represent Tender and Pricing function to Commercial and Executive
• Sourcing of Tender opportunities
• Maintain a database of all tender activities
• Respond to all RFQ's, RFI's, and tender requests
• Identify tender specifications for circulation to the relevant commercial team members
• Gather the necessary information from internal and external stakeholders to ensure accuracy of completed tender documents
• Compile bi-weekly report of tender activities
• Responsible for delivering of all completed documents on time
• Respond to all validity extension requests
• Regular communication with customers with regard to status of tenders
• Presentation of tenders status at regular commercial management meetings
• Extract key points from tender and forward relevant information to PM and interested staff
• Actively seek ways to improve the department and the efficiency of processes

This function will require interdepartmental engagement with sales, marketing, finance and customer services department. Future expectation of this position is to develop and lead a competent and efficient Tenders and Pricing Team.

Qualifications / education required:

Relevant commercial/engineering degree would be advantageous

Experience required:

• +7 years' experience with South Africa medical tenders and contracts
• PC literate
• MS Office (Excel (level 2 or 3), Word, PowerPoint, Outook)
• MFG-PRO
• Cognos Powerplay
• MF Project would be advantageous

Specialist training required:

• MFG-PRO
• COGNOS
