Portfolio Manager at Spartan

Job description

As Portfolio Manager, you will develop and manage a portfolio of SME investments in South Africa across various industry sectors in line with the company strategy. The candidate will be expected to:

• Manage a base of existing SME clients and taking on pre-qualified new clients, through a deep understanding of the industry and other economic indicators; NOTE: this role does NOT require sourcing of clients.
• Identify and evaluate portfolio opportunities that are in line with the company’s strategy, using economic, financial, social and impact parameters;
• Conduct regular on-site evaluation missions;
• Prepare detailed evaluation reports and present investment; recommendations to the Investment Committee;
• Define and negotiate the terms of investment in line with company’s pricing policy;
• Organize the preparation of legal documents, in coordination with internal and external resources;
• Supervise a portfolio of investments – identify any possible problems and come up with solutions;
• Promote and reinforce the role of Spartan as the financiers to SMEs, constantly improving relationships with entrepreneurs and potential partners.
