    Job description

    ITSI (Pty) Ltd is currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to accelerate the growth of the ITSI customer base in South Africa.

    • The HBD will be responsible for driving all ITSI sales and marketing activities in South Africa, with a specific focus on building new channels and markets.
    • The scope includes the direct sales to schools and higher education institutions (B2School), online store sales (B2C) and corporate negotiations (B2B).
    • To grow the ITSI business successfully, the HBD must have an enthusiastic sales-oriented personality. A successful candidate must demonstrate an ability to think creatively about the sales and marketing approach, and ‘to get things done’.
    • The candidate must also have a solid experience in executing sales processes flawlessly - even for highly complex sales.
    • The ideal candidate possesses excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills and can drive the business through analytical insights. Experience in driving and motivating a team is also required.
    • The initial focus of the role will be to build up new sales capacity in South African higher education and corporate channels, and a candidate with experience and network in these areas will be preferred.
    • The position is located in Pretoria and reports directly to the MD of South Africa. The role requires frequent domestic travel.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Build ITSI higher education and corporate training client base by identifying the right customers to target, adjusting ITSI offering to suit their needs, and proactively negotiating and closing the sales. Build team capacity to expand in these markets.
    • Identify and recruit the right talent to create and execute ITSI’s online store customer acquisition strategy. Manage the online marketing and sales processes.
    • Support existing school sales team by innovation in the sales and marketing approach and managing the priorities through data-driven insights;
    • Manage the sales teams by e.g. giving feedback, teaching improved processes, problem-solving on sales approaches and by mentoring;
    • Recommend changes in products, service, and policy by evaluating results and competitive developments;
    • Deliver against annual targets in the area in e.g. sales and customer satisfaction;
    • Keep company leadership informed by collecting, analysing, and summarising pipeline and customer information;
    • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, and establishing personal networks.

    Required Experience

    • Graduate degree;
    • 7+ years of sales experience required, ideally from both B2B (complex sales cycle) and B2C sales;
    • Self-starter with a passion for sales excellence;
    • Demonstrated ability to think creatively about company’s sales and marketing approach, and implement required changes to achieve growth;
    • Willingness to be hands-on in the business and dive deep into details;
    • Strong analytical capability, and ability to drive sales through data-based insights
    • Demonstrated leadership skills, including people development and coaching;
    • Great communication skills, ranging from presentation skills to 1:1 sales meetings, track record in influencing senior level people and groups;
    • Ability to develop close and lasting customer relationships, to listen and adjust your proposals to customer needs;
    • Motivation to continuously learn and expand your knowledge on all topics regarding e‑learning, the education environment and technical innovation.

    Preferred experience

    • Experience and network in South African higher education or corporate training sector is strongly preferred
    • Overall experience within the education sector, or an e-learning environment;
    • Wide-range technical understanding, especially with regards to e-learning (e.g. high-density Wi-Fi networks, the Internet, Firewalls, IP addresses and servers, blended learning, flipped classrooms, mobile devices).
