Overview
The South Africa Channel Marketing Specialist’s role is to plan and execute the in-country channel marketing activities in collaboration with brand, sales, supply chain and technical stakeholders to support the Lubricants team in growing the SA lubricants volume and delivering on 2017-2020 Business targets.
The Channel Marketing Specialist will be accountable for leading the development and execution of channel penetration programs that includes adaptation and production of all Trade Promotions, Local Site Marketing programs, DIFM/DIY Workshop roll out, Signage, Point of Sale Collateral, Product Literature, Trade Events and Sponsorship materials.
Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
- Trade Marketing Incentives And Promotions
- Works in automotive spare shop stores on localised promotions
- Trains and Coaches sales people who support stores locations
- Works at network head quarters to design and agree store incentives
- Develops and rolsl out store specific merchandising elements
- Distributors And Resellers
- Works with distributors through close collaboration and dialogue on executing distributor marketing plans and programs, ensuring alignment with Channel strategy
- Drives distributor field marketing plans, initiatives and execution
- Integrates sales and marketing through the transparent sales pipeline collaboration
- Coaches distributors to develop digital marketing capability
- Retail Service Stations and Installer Locations:
- Explores new channels to market and develop programs to drive sales growth
- Aligns with brand/retail sales to incentivise forecourt staff to sell Lubricants
- Develops and executes branded location livery and point of sale for independent motor trade locations
- Consumer, Trade And Business Partner Event Planning And Execution
- Distributor award and recognition annual events
- Executes trade shows
- Trainings and skills development sessions via webinars and digital engagements
Required Qualifications
- 3 year tertiary qualification in marketing, business or equivalent
- Ability to build successful relationships internally and externally
- Customer service orientation and desire to be in the field
- Communication skills at different organisational levels
- Negotiating and influencing skills
- Project management/coordination skills
- Ability to plan, manage and allocate budget to deliver return on investment
- Agency and vendor management, and trade show execution
Preferred Qualifications
Channel/Trade Marketing, 3- 5 years experience preferred
Relocation Options:
