    Sales Engineer

    Job description

    The key performace areas for the role are:

    The role of the Sales Engineer is to prospect for existing and new clients to develop and generate new business opportunities in Power generation sector and to also support the activities of Turbo PrimeServ business unit within the Region.

    The successful candidate must also be able to:

    • Plan strategically how to approach, convince, attract and retain customers in order to do business with our company
    • Develop a good professional relationship with existing and new customers
    • Support and achieve the set targets for sales
    • Support customers so as to continually improve the relationship
    • Grow and improve existing accounts by presenting new products and good customer support; Work together with the Headquarters on the commercial strategy of tenders and opportunities; Manage EPC’s / IPP’s and have a sound knowledge of local content opportunities.

    Specific Requirements:

    • Bachelors or Masters Degree in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or equivalent
    • Additional Technical, Commercial or Business Management qualification / education is an advantage
    • Candidate should have 10 or more years of experience in new equipment sales for Steam & Gas Turbines and Turbomachinery
    • English language is a pre-requisite (speak; read and write)
    • German language will be an added advantage Other Details
    • Candidate should have 10 or more years of experience in new equipment sales specifically in Steam & Gas Turbines and Rotating Equipment (Turbomachinery)
    • Experience in Project Management / Bid Management is required
    • The candidate must have a sound knowledge of the Market and competition
    • Extensive travel within Sub-Saharan Africa is a requirement for this position.
