Successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

Duties and Responsibilities

• Managing the Payroll Function with the assistance of a payroll administrator.
• Ensuring that employee salary structures are correct.
• Maintaining the VIP People HR and ESS components.
• Serving as the quality control function in the HR department.
• Ensuring that all administrative and payroll practices comply with legislation.
• Managing all employee benefits (pension, provident, disability, life, funeral, medical aid).
• Managing the Company’s BBBEE scorecard.
• Assisting the HR department with reporting functions.

Minimum Requirements

Experience or Qualifications in the following is essential:

• At least 10 years’ experience in a payroll environment with both administration and management exposure.
• A well-developed understanding of the accounting process that follows payroll processing.
• Exposure to job analysis and grading is preferred.
• Advanced knowledge of tax and other statutory regulations.
• Exposure to the Sage VIP People system.
• At least 5 years’ experience in employee benefits with a very good understanding of the claiming process.
• Exposure to BBBEE and the audit preparation process.
• A formal qualification in HR or accounting would be advantageous.
• Exposure as an HR generalist would be highly advantageous.
• Intermediate Excel skills is essential
