    Production Supervisor (m/f)

    We are looking for Production supervisor to be based in Durban, South Africa

    Your responsibilities

    • Ensure that quality requirements appropriate to the work content of the area are defined and available. Conduct regular team meetings to systematically review feedback/forward information for external and internal suppliers and ensure agreed counter measures are implemented. Ensure appropriate documentation is controlled, records kept and accessible at all places where required.
    • Involve colleagues in the work process to continuously improve performance, product quality and working conditions. Through teamwork, encourage them to challenge the status quo, identify the root cause of problems and strive to eliminate waste. Promote colleagues’ pride, winning and professional behaviors, job satisfaction and professional/personal development.
    • Ensure that workplace organization standards are established to clean, organize and maintain a safe workplace and surrounding environment. Maintain team visual management system. Together with the team analyses information on disturbances and implement solutions within one takt using continuous improvement methodology.
    • Organize and control inventory to meet manufacturing and material flow needs and maintain production within agreed delivery schedule. Proactively manage bottlenecks using a highly visible system and resolve problems within one takt, even if the solution is temporary.
    • Ensure that colleagues are skilled to undertake specified maintenance tasks, that critical equipment is identified, and the team actively works to improve equipment availability, reliability, robustness and capability.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or in a related field
    • Minimum of five (4) years of experience working in an industrial manufacturing environment
    • Excellent organization and communication skills
    • Ability to work in a large manufacturing environment
    • Strong communication and diplomacy skills and the ability to guide influence, convince others, and communicate complex concepts
