    Social Paid Media Planner

    Job Description

    Role

    • The role will require the understanding, set up, reporting, and basic counsel on paid media retainer clients, as well as global online advertising campaigns across Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, GDN and native advertising platforms. The paid media planner will work with a team of digital specialists and social media managers to build and execute social advertising strategies for a number of brands.
    • Attention to detail, a hunger for improving on social advertising results for clients and a good understanding of analysing social behaviour are a must. Experience in agency environment is beneficial. Candidates will also need to have a passion for the media and enjoy working, and excelling, in a fast paced and challenging environment.

    Key Responsibilities Include:

    • Serve as a member of the cross-functional client team to understand goals and translate them into a paid social media strategy across all platforms and devices
    • Partner with all teams across the agency to understand the role of paid social within the larger paid media campaign, as well as the organic social strategy
    • Flawlessly run paid media on social platforms. Responsible for campaign setup, trafficking, ongoing optimisation, and reporting that meets and exceeds client goals
    • Management of paid media budgets without overspending and ensuring best ROI
    • Stay up to date on new ad products and technology advancements, understanding how to translate them to deliver on business goals and how they work with your media plan
    • Demonstrate deep knowledge of the capabilities of key identified platforms and be able to test and apply them to client/campaign objectives. Foster strong relationships with current platform partners to help influence product roadmaps based on specific client needs.
    • Partner with key team members to use real-time data, testing, and campaign learnings to effectively optimise and manage campaigns. Collect insights to share back with internal teams.
    • Leverage planning and forecasting tools within platforms to inform budgets, strategies and target audiences.
    • Produce clear communication for internal teams and client regarding campaign performance, recommendations and expected deliverables.
    • Work flexible hours to adapt to the real-time nature of the social space. Be available 'on call' during non-business hours for posting and optimising as needed.
    • Compiling online advertising paid media plans with budget splits and recommendations
    • Weekly optimisation and recommendations on potential edits

    Skills required:

    • Able to set up social media campaign ads and sets
    • Able to set up native advertising ad groups
    • Ability to effectively consult to client on paid media
    • Ability to add value on paid media suggestions for new business pitches
    • Superior collaboration and teamwork skills; experience working with cross-functional teams
    • Effective at project management and ability to re-prioritise while operating within a fast paced environment, while maintaining attention to detail.
    • Intermediate to advanced skills in Excel
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • The ability to think on your feet, present to clients, and talk knowledgeably about the role of social media
    • Understanding of fundamental media metrics and calculations (CTR, CPC, CPM, CPA)
    • Energetic, accountable, honest, positive, disciplined , self-motivated and proactive
    • Strong reporting and analytics skills to best explain advertising results
    • Creative, and innovative approach to solving problems within your field
    • High level of organisational and effective time-management skills
    • Able to work fast and effectively under pressure and on complex social ad accounts
    • Meets deadlines while still being detail oriented

    Qualifications:

    • Minimum of three years’ agency experience in social media advertising
    • Tertiary qualification advantageous.
