THE ROLE

WordPress is our content management solution of choice and we are looking for an experienced Full Stack Software Engineer to lead on the design and development of our SaaS WordPress platform.

We’re building the only truly secure, scalable world-class hosting platform for finance, with leading edge technologies such as Akamai, Kubernetes, Docker, Percona and OpenStack (just to name a few!)

You need to be a Full Stack Software Engineer who feels comfortable working with anything from plugin development to providing architectural input on infrastructure design and the automation thereof.

DAY-TO-DAY

A Typical Day Will Include

You skills will be tested on a daily basis, as this is a challenging role. Learning will be part of your daily experience.

• Development of roadmap items such as plugins and core product updates to further our product offering within the FinTech arena.
• Continuous improvement of the WordPress platform to keep us at the bleeding edge.
• Continuous improvement of the surrounding infrastructure security to keep our clients secure.
• Integration with 3rd party vendors using their APIs.
• Provide 3rd line support to both internal and external development partners.

REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS

• Solid experience developing on WordPress. This includes development of plugins, core debugging and using the WordPress API.
• Experience using WP CLI to manage WordPress sites in a multi-tenant environment.
• Excellent knowledge of PHP and either Bash, Python or Ruby.
• Experience integrating WordPress with RESTful APIs.
• Experience with agile methodologies.
• Experience with source control and using GIT.
• Understanding of best practice for infrastructure design for WordPress in a highly scalable environment.
• Strong Linux experience (Ubuntu 14.04 upwards preferred)
• Excellent knowledge of best practice for securing WordPress in a highly secure environment.
• Self-sufficient with time management and being well organised.
• Highly proactive – always thinking of new ideas and ways to use technology to increase efficiency

BONUS SKILLS

• Working in an agile environment with exposure to tools such as Jira and Confluence.
• Exposure to NodeJS and / or developing software using NodeJS.
• Experience working with containerisation technologies such as Kubernetes and / or Docker. Any production experience would be welcomed.
• Experience using automation tools, such as Puppet, to manage site configuration and setup.
• Experience with Percona Server for MySQL and / or Percona XtraDB Cluster products
