    Sr Consultant - Analytics - Marketing Services

    Dynamics of the role

    This position performs an array of advanced statistical analysis techniques to understand each client’s business environment (markets, drivers, objectives, business processes, policies and procedures) in order to advise clients on various aspects of their marketing initiatives. This position will analyse various data sources to identify segments within the data most suited to TransUnion’s clients’ needs (this is not limited to marketing only).

    Provides easy-to-understand; action-oriented reports and presentations for customers. Demonstrates to internal and external customers how analysis can be implemented to maximize business strategies including cost benefit analyses. Explores new statistical analysis and related research techniques and software and presents analysis findings to peers and other groups within TransUnion. Manages the integration of data analysis with statistical models, to make sound strategic recommendations

    You Will Be Responsible For

    Through full integration with our Credit Bureau, we have unrivalled visibility of multiple data sets of relevant and current information on consumers, businesses and assets. This allows us to offer you market-leading products and solutions that empower you to make objective, informed decisions across every stage of your customers’ credit cycle.

    • Conduct extensive data analysis in order to understand internal and external client data, process flows, policies and procedures.
    • Campaign preparation.
    • Campaign; scorecard; portfolio; monitoring and additional ad-hoc analysis.
    • Compile detailed documentation to meet the client’s expectations.
    • Provide high quality ongoing customer and sales support; uncovering opportunities, answering questions, resolving problems, consulting with internal and external customers, and closing sales.
    • Construct, analyse and interpret various reports.
    • Analyse and interpret trends encountered and make logical conclusions from output.
    • Utilise various communication- and reporting- methods to ensure that the output and recommendations are presented to the client in a clear and understandable manner.
    • Read and import raw data from various formats into different SAS environments.
    • Manage the analysis of data files in various layouts and perform data auditing and validation.
    • Perform general and detailed data interrogation, transformation and manipulation.
    • Use SAS and other tools to analyse data in detail.
    • Identify data trends or patterns, data mining and warehousing.
    • Control and assure the quality of output data according to predefined standards.
    • Generating tables and graphs using SAS and Excel.
    • Preparation of documentation illustrating data findings in various formats according to specified standards and as per clients expectations.
    • Ability to provide formal and informal feedback (verbal and non-verbal) as well as presentations to internal and external customers on outputs obtained to ensure that the output and recommendations are presented to the clients in an understandable manner.
    • Consulting with internal and external clients to determine business requirements (including campaign definition, reporting and analysis).
    • Lead analysts on major analysis projects.
    • Mentor analysts in the team

    Occasional travel is required

    Job Qualifications

    What You’ll Bring

    • You will require a Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Information Sciences, Informatics, Business Economics, Economic Sciences or similar analytical field
    • A minimum of 3 years’ experience with knowledge of statistical tools and their application to business, as well as principles of cost/benefit analysis, risk management, marketing and operations.
    • Having a sound understanding of statistical software (SAS) will be advantageous
    • Must have demonstrated experience using a PC and the applicable software programs necessary, to complete the task
    • Technical aptitude, with strong logical problem solving and decision-making skills.
    • Proficiency in performing multiple tasks and dealing with changing deadline requirements required.
    • Must have good verbal and written communication skills; strong listening and teamwork skills; and effective presentation and sales skills are also required. Must be focused, flexible, and organized.
