    Welding Engineer

    Job Description

    The Welding Engineer is responsible for leading a well-organized and Effective Body Construction Welding Engineering Department to world class standards.

    Positions Details:

    • Supervise and control Absenteeism of Personnel <3%.
    • Lead Start Up and Quality Procedures specific to Welding Quality and ensure Standards are met.
    • Provide necessary resources to maintain production flow with no/minimal defects.
    • Ensure defects are contained in base department and all repairs are to the required specifications and regulations.
    • Undertake root cause analysis complete with ICA and PCA should defects be experienced.
    • Drive continuous improvement on systemic abnormalities to prevent reoccurrence and drive weld quality improvements.
    • Ensure Destructive and Non-Destructive welding targets are timeously met.
    • Coach, teach, and feedback on resolution of abnormalities (ANDON), and confirm closure of concerns.
    • Lead training development activities to upskill Team Members.
    • Confirm work areas adhere to 5S standards of workplace organization.

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

    • Experience in Resistance Spot Welding within an automotive Industry.
    • Welding and general mechanical experience.
    • Production Knowledge and Experience.
    • Manufacturing Engineering Knowledge and Experience.
    • Knowledge and experience of Robotic and Welding technology within a Body Shop environment. Safety and housekeeping.

    Qualifications & Experience:

    • NDip/Degree – Mechanical / Welding Engineering
    • Minimum of 2-3 years within the Automotive Industry.
