Marketing and Communications Assistant at Stanchion Payment Solutions

Job description

We are looking for a smart and proactive marketing assistant that can help us drive marketing efforts for a new cloud-based management solution – Gyrus. The product is sold through a reseller network in Africa, Middle East, Europe, US and Asia so marketing activities are focused on supporting these resellers in a way that makes them successful.

Focus Activities

We need someone to apply careful thought and focused energy to our marketing and communication needs – we’re a small team so our efforts need to create value. Some of these activities are currently managed by our Customer Success team; we need the Marketing Communications Assistant to support Customer Success from a marketing perspective (E.g. messaging copy, consistency, simplicity, usability, brand values).

Key Marketing Assistant activities will include:

• Reseller portal – all marketing collateral and tools are kept in a central store – you will be responsible for managing and growing the scope and value of this reseller portal from a marketing perspective.
• Website – update copy, manage content, liaise with external vendors if required. Even better if you’re comfortable digging around in the detail and figuring out how to update the website yourself.
• Sales slides – our resellers depend on being able to effectively communicate the value of Gyrus using sales slides. Tasks will include updating copy, rethinking and revising sales slide content and the sales slide approach.
• Video – identifying and interpreting video content requirements based on reseller needs. Liaising with third party providers to create video content.
• Demos – demonstrating the power of Gyrus with a real example is incredibly valuable. You’ll work with our Customer Success team to ensure our marketing strategy and messaging is consistently communicated.
• Case studies – showcasing how Gyrus adds value in real-life examples is critical to our success – tasks here will focus on working with our Customer Success team and resellers to identify case study examples and managing the case study development process.
• Copywriting – we need to communicate the value of Gyrus in simple and clear language, but this will require the interpretation of complex or new concepts. We need someone who is comfortable with complexity and sometimes ambiguity.
• Training – the Gyrus marketing team will need to ensure that the Gyrus training team is communicating the use and value of Gyrus in the most effective way that is aligned with the marketing plan.
• Industry research – Gyrus can be sold in many industries – part of this strategy will require industry research to identify where we should focus our efforts.

Skills

• Can-do attitude – we need someone who is proactive and will get the job done.
• Superb writing skills – this is a non-negotiable.
• Conceptual thinker – ability to synthesise complex value propositions and service offerings into simple value-adding copy.
• Creative – not a show-stopper, but some creative flair would be good.
• MS Office – must be very comfortable working in PowerPoint, Word, Outlook.
• Technically adept – must not be afraid to play around with new solutions and systems to figure out how they work. We’re not looking for a tech-guru, but we need someone who’s comfortable exploring and figuring things out for themselves.
• Work in an unstructured, geographically diverse, multi-cultural work environment

Requirements

• Qualification in English Literature / Language and / or Marketing (or equivalent)
• Prior experience in editing, writing and marketing content
• Minimum of 2 years prior experience
