The Pre-degreeProgramme is inviting appl * ications for the position of full time lecturers for Semester1 2017. The main purpose of the Pre-degree programme is to prepare students tosucceed in their degree studies.*

Purpose Of Positions

• To lecture Student Skills on the pre-degree programme
• Academic Skills: Essay writing, academic referencing,study techniques, critical thinking, communication, etc
• Life skills: time management, wellness, stressmanagement etc.
• To develop related material for assessment and learning
• Tomonitor and assist the academic and personal development of the students on theprogramme
• To assist in theadministration and departmental affairs and activities as required by the ProgrammeHead
• To work with theProgrammeHeadon developing new course materials, assessments andcurricula if required.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Lecturing and tutoring
• Setting and marking of assessments
• Preparation of notes and additional study materials
• Quality Assurance of material
• General administration
• General academic administration
• Assistance with thepreparation, co-ordination and attendance at functions, events, registrationand activities (open/ career days)

Qualifications

• A relevant Honours degree (preferably with English ata third year level);
• A relevant higher degree oreducation qualification such as Post Graduate qualification in education (e.g.HDE, PGCE, PGCHE) will be an advantage

Experience:

• Lecturing or teaching experience is essential
• Knowledge of higher education practices and processes
• Academic Support experience will be an advantage
• Blended learning experience will be an advantage
