Job description
The role of the Senior Accountant is to execute the following:
Develops, implements, and/or maintains one or more of the following accounting systems for the organization: Journal Entries, General Ledger, Accounts Receivables, Expense, Payroll, Projects, Accounts Payable or Revenue Reconciliation.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Prepares financial reports for general management use.
- Maintains company journals and ledgers.
- Performs reconciliations of company financial data, researches variances, and adjusts as needed.
- Enters, reviews, and/or approves financial transactions in company financial systems.
- Interprets and analyzes financial reports for organization management.
- Assists with special projects as assigned.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- Leads special projects, as assigned.
- Assists with training.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to analyze data and make suggestions for adjustment or process improvements.
- Strong attention to details and ability to meet deadlines
- Excellent ability to understand and apply generally accepted accounting principles
- Proficiency in Excel
- Strong ability to leverage tools and systems.
- Oracle experience is preferred (U.S. only)
- Complexity
- Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Networks with key contacts outside own area of expertise.
- Supervision
- Determines methods and procedures on new assignments and may coordinate activities of other personnel. (Team Lead).
- Problem Solving
- Having wide-ranging experience, uses professional concepts and company objectives to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways. Some barriers to entry may exist at this level (e.g., dept/ peer review). Level at which career may plateau.
Education
Bachelor's degree or educational equivalent in accounting or related field. CPA certification preferred or other recognized accountancy qualifications.Oracle experience would be an advantage
Experience
Typically requires a minimum of (8) eight years of professional accounting experience, preferably in a large corporate environment.Oracle experience would be an advantage
Equivalency:
Equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience may be considered in place of the requirements above.
