Position Description

Santam’s Non Motor Desktop Assessment Claims department has a position available for a Electronic Goods Moderator that will be based in Auckland Park (Johannesburg). The Electronic Goods Moderator will ensure that the most appropriate and effective settlement is approved on selected Non-Motor claims, specifically focusing on electronic claims (Computing equipment, Audio Visual, etc.). Anyone with a strong interest, understanding and experience with Electronic Goods would be welcome to apply.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure that the most appropriate and effective settlement is approved on selected Non-Motor claims, specifically focusing on Electronic claims (Computing equipment, Audio Visual, etc.).
• Increase and enhance Non Motor Assessors skills to identify and approve most effective repair cost and replacement options at claim settlement as well as guiding Assessors on negotiation skills with, suppliers, brokers and clients through on the job coaching/peer coaching.
• Provide specialist technical support.
• Assist Assessors to negotiate and settle claims with clients within the delegated threshold related to Santam’s financial risk if and when required.
• Moderate the following key aspects of an assessment with specific reference to claim:
• Validity of assessment on a digital basis;
• Provide guidance and assistance on electronic equipment claims
• Liaise with suppliers on queries of assessments;
• Evaluate requests for re-assessment and provide guidance;
• Evaluate and do settlement reviews on selected claims;
• Report on the moderation results including solutions for improvement.
• Continuous technical guidance and support
• On the job coaching/peer coaching

Minimum Requirements

Qualifications And Experience

• Grade 12 (Matric)
• Technical related qualification (IT qualification would be advantageous)
• 2-3 years’ experience in dealing with claims in the Short term insurance industry (Advantageous)
• 2-3 years’ experience in the retail industry (electronic goods)
