Senior Software Developer (Senior) at Saratoga

Job description

This role will require someone who can take the technical lead in Software Development and System Architecture design. Ours is a RESTful microservices architecture, based on the following stacks:

• Linux (CentOs 7)
• Redis
• NodeJS
• Nginx
• ReactJS (isomorphic implementation)

The candidate will therefore be giving architectural guidance, beginning with these technologies, and will be comfortable in a DevOps environment, be well conversant in Linux, and have a good grasp of networking concepts.

The responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following key deliverables:

• Development and Support for existing Node.js and React.js news media platform.
• Responsibility for the system architecture and for the future direction thereof.
• Develop new features for both Web solutions and mobile applications to align with the groups digital strategy, including personalization and localisation.
• Become a key member of the technical team aligning with the new online/digital strategy for the group.

Requirements

Qualifications / Technical Skills:

• Relevant degree or 3/4-year technical diploma.
• Honours or postgraduate degree preferred.
• Strong theoretical programming grounding required.

Experience:

Essential:

5 to 10 years software development experience.

Advantageous:

• Node.js
• React.js
• Nginx familiarity
• DevOps skills for a Linux platform
