    Senior Manager: Medicine and Benificiary Mgt - GEMS

    Job description

    Position purpose:

    To lead the managed care operational teams and to provide support to departments, manage resources, processes and budget in order to deliver a customer-centric business environment. To ensure that the operational area is aligned to Medscheme and client schemes strategic objectives.

    Generic Output Details

      • Compliance and Risk Management:
        • Ensure corporate service level agreements are maintained and delivered against set standards -Responsible for identifying risks for department, maintaining the risk register and lowering the risk ratings
    • Financial Management
      • Accountability for allocated cost centre budget, variances, reports and overall financial management
    • Operating Model:
      • Responsible for department specific managed care services for designated clients. In addition responsible for new services that may be rolled out from time to time. This includes new business take-ons and wind downs.
      • Develop operational plans to meet the defined delivery objectives, supporting and being supported by peer teams and areas of responsibility
      • Ensure that service level agreements with schemes are met
    • Operational Implementation of Strategy:
      • Plan and implement changes to the operations of the area of responsibility to respond to macro and micro-economic conditions, legislation, competition, market sentiment and the industry in general.
      • Communicate business plan in alignment with strategic context and strategic implementation plans to ensure operational best practice and continuous improvement
    • Operational Leadership:
      • Accountability for the operational performance by team as per Human Capital frameworks and policies to ensure delivery to agreed standards and objectives.
    • Stakeholder Management:
      • Ensure appropriate, active and informative relationships with customers, value chain partners and industry players (if applicable) are in place

    Experience:

    • 5 years managed health care experience
    • Management experience in an operational environment is an advantage

    Qualifications:

    Business Management and/or clinical degree
