Summary:

To take responsibility for the full financial function of the Nordic Light Properties and related group companies both locally and internationally. To report timeously and effectively to the CEO on an ongoing basis as to all financial related aspects of the group

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage the full financial accounting function on a monthly basis.
• Management of the company finance and timeously presented management accounts to the CEO.
• Take full responsibility and ownership of the management accounts. Find ways to improve the reporting function of the group. Lead and give direction given to the financial accountant and bookkeeper.
• Maintain extensive relationship with property managers at a management level.
• Oversight and control monitoring of recovery process and enforcing lease agreements.
• Management and direction of the finance processes and controls.
• Drive financial performance improvements initiatives throughout the company in areas such as cost reduction, asset management, capital efficiency and productivity.
• Full direction and communication with the audit partner for IFRS audits. Direction and oversight in preparation of the full audit file for audit.
• Provide guidance and financial assistance to the Board of directors.
• Management of the audit function. Ensuring management consultation and audit is completed timeously. Maintaining communication with audit manager and audit partner.
• Assist and understanding in preparation of the Management and Shareholder reports delivered to stakeholders. Complete understanding of the figures presented and analysis thereon.
• Good understanding of share price/NAV calculations and performance indicators of the group. Model building and analysis are imperative and to be presented to CEO thoroughly with an understanding in its entirety.
• Oversight and management of the international secretarial agents employed. Duly managed team based internationally and direction to be given to the team.
• Understanding and learning foreign tax structures and secretarial functions.
• Undertaking and liaising with foreign audit partners and audit of foreign entities. Preparation of audit files thereon. Management of the audit and timeous presentation of audit report to the board of directors.
• Ensure efficient and effective tax compliance for all entities and related entities/personnel.

Ideal Candidate:

Qualified CA(SA)

• Minimum 6 years out of articles experience in commerce
• Knowledge and experience in Real Estate sector an advantage
• Well rounded individual who can handle all aspects of the finance function and provide good guidance to the CEO.
• Good tax knowledge is required for companies and trust accounts. Ability to adapt and investigate good tax structuring is a must.
