GRAPHIC DESIGNER

MAIN JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Grade 12 and tertiary degree, diploma in Design or similar. Must have a proven track record of having received on-job training.
• Advanced skills in Adobe Creative Suite/Cloud, including InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
• Excellent communication skills in English language – verbal, written and in presentations.
• Physically well-groomed appearance
• Competent in operating a Mac and PC computer.
• Efficient in communicating effectively.
• Highly organized and approachable on all levels.
• Strategic planning, complex problem resolution and general project management skills.
• Ability to positively influence people, work in a team and individually.
• Mature and competent in dealing with people from all spectrums.
• Valid RSA Driver’s license

SCOPE AND PURPOSE OF JOB

• Responsible for all design and production of in-house collateral, advertisements for publications, design of presentations used for internal and external use.  
• Work closely with the sales and marketing team in order to maximise revenue and occupancy of the hotel.
• May be required to part-take in special events and promotions of the hotel and hotel group.
• Communicate on a daily basis with the Sales and Marketing Department at Hotel Verde whilst maintaining clear reporting channels with the GM.
• Responsible for communicating with outsourced printers and manufacturers.

SPECIFIC DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES AND PROJECTS

• Send-off of digital mailers to clients and guest database, promoting specials, events and other information about the hotel.
• Attend regular meetings with Marketing and Sales team and General Manager to remain informed of new and fresh marketing ideas and drive efforts accordingly.
• Regularly compile market research and ideas on hotel development and growth with regards to the current markets and client needs.
• Maintain a thorough knowledge of the current and up-coming trends in design and marketing.
• May be required to conduct regular walk-about and site inspections to familiarise with current hotel operational standards.
• Be available to assist with site inspections for potential clients.
