Key Responsibility Areas:

• Identify and define the immediate, short and long term objectives of the finance division.
• Manages the implementation of financial controls/procedures and the assessment of potential risk areas in the finance division.
• Directs and controls the outcomes associated with productivity and the performance of personnel within the Finance division of eThekwini Electricity.
• Manages the analysis and evaluation of all existing financial systems within eThekwini
• Electricity and the successful implementation of new financial systems.
• Interprets the departmental procedures and policies, the Municipal Finance Management act and Financial regulations and devising internal financial policies.

Essential Requirements

• Tertiary qualification (NQF Level 7) in Finance or Economics or Accounting with Financial Accounting 3 as major subject or any other related and equivalent qualification.
• Must be in possession of National Treasury MFMA minimum competency qualification (NQF6) OR Must obtain a National Treasury MFMA minimum competency qualification (NQF6) within 18 months of date of appointment.
• Valid motor vehicle driving license.
• 6 years relevant experience of which 3 years must be at a management level.
• Computer Literacy.

Preferred Requirements:

• Tertiary qualification (NQF Level 8) in Finance or Economics or Accounting or any other
• related and equivalent qualification.
• Must have a professional registration of either CA(SA) or CIMA or ACCA.
• 7 years relevant experience of which 4 years must be at management level.
