    Practice Development Manager

    Job description

    Old Mutual South Africa and the specific business unit in question.

    Key focus of the role:

    This role develops and implements a best practice framework for Practice Management and Transition in OMPFA.
    Role Description & Key Result Areas:

    • To ensure quality one on one delivery of Practice Management principles to Top Advisers within OMPFA.
    • To be a center of influence in OMPFA for Practice Management and Relationship Transitions.
    • To assist with the up-skilling of Sales and Area managers on Practice Management.
    • To assist retiring Advisers with Relationship Transitions.
    • To assist Senior Advisers and management with General Practices.
    • To up-skill identified experienced advisers in the principles of Practice Management via workshops.
    • Drive CodA as a business initiative amongst top advisers.
    • Drive General Practice as a business initiative amongst top advisers.
    • Promote and drive Practice of the Year amongst top advisers.
    • Practice Consultation
      • Evaluate, Advise and guide solutions and improvements to top performer practices against best practice principles.
      • Facilitate and implement problem/risk resolution as it pertains to practice management.
      • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders in order to offer best services/solutions.
      • Facilitate discussion forums for top producers.
      • Consult on segmentation of client base and reallocation of “virtual” orphan clients.
    • Practice Development
      • Deliver and drive Practice Management to top producers
      • Identify opportunities for improvement in top adviser’s practices.
      • Identify General Practice opportunities and guide and support the creation and functioning of these in OMPFA.
      • Facilitate internal and external relationship building between top producers and relevant stakeholders.
      • Ensure active integration of industry developments with business processes as it pertains to practice management.
      • Practice Design
      • Adapt best practice for the OMPFA model.
      • Actively assist top producers with the integration of best practices into their businesses.
      • Actively influence learning and business process design and delivery for top producers.
      • Actively influence and assist with role design for Area and Sales Managers in respect of managing top producers.
    • Practice Implementation
      • Translate and integrate theory into practice for all relevant stakeholders as it pertains to top producers.
      • Integrate and customise best practice on a regional and area level where appropriate.
      • Relationship Transition (Practice Transition - Succession)
      • Identify established advisers who will be retiring within the next three years.
      • Assist Area and Sales Managers with profiling retiring adviser’s client base and matching clients to new advisers.
      • Implement relationship transition guidelines together with Area and Sales Managers when transitioning the client relationships of retiring advisers to successors.
      • Drive the transition through regular meetings with the retiring adviser, successor and area management.
      • Assist with the integration of client base into new adviser’s practice.

    Qualifications and experience:

    • Matric
    • Relevant Diploma or degree will be advantageous
    • Coaching Qualification will be advantageous.
    • Previous Area or Sales Manager experience managing and/or influencing top advisor practices top EFA Advisors (minimum 5 years) required will be advantageous.
    • Profound technical knowledge of the Financial Services industry.
    • Technical knowledge in Old Mutual PFA will be advantageous.
    • Experience and skilled in software tools used for Financial Planning and Financial Advisers. E.g. Microsoft Office, Excel, Power Point, XPlan and Internet tools etc.
    • Code 8 driver’s license required with own vehicle.
    • Prepared to travel extensively.
