    Warehouse Controller - Ethekwini

    Job Description    
    Our Talent Team is looking for an efficient Warehouse Controller with great interpersonal skills to join our Vector Logistics team based in Ethekwini.

    The individual is required to oversee the safe receipt, storage, retrieval and timely dispatch of goods for, thereby meeting customer service levels and reducing costs.

    Minimum Requirements    

    • National Diploma in Warehouse/Logistics Management.

    Duties & Responsibilities    
    Strategy Execution:

    • Drive the implementation of improvements in VCS/PBCS warehouse operations to achieve significant gains in efficiency.

    Operations Management:

    • Manage VCS/PBCS operational requirements by deploying warehouse operational and administrative employees and following up on work results.
    • Continuously consider cost reducing strategies over all activities of the warehouse.
    • Manage the housekeeping of the warehouse(s) and surrounding area.
    • Plan the arrangement of goods within the warehouse and ensure special requirements for certain stock, such as chilled goods or fragile products are met.
    • Manage the system of picking, checking and loading to ensure productivity and compliance targets are met. Ensures that all tasks, activities and operations that are carried out on the day shift are coordinated with night duties and activities.
    • Effectively and in a timely manner communicate with the Logistics Manager and Warehouse Manager regarding any issues, exceptions or problems occurring on the nightshift that warrant their attention.
    • Ensure customer orders are filled and placed on trucks in the proper order as described in the loading procedures.
    • Ensure that all orders leaving the warehouse are correctly packed and damage free.
    • Manage the execution of the transport plan for PSD / CSD.
    • Oversee returns and the document process back into SAP. Perform regular system health checks regarding replenishments, transfers, returns not completed.

    Warehouse Administration Management:

    • Oversee the warehouse administration, ensuring that all goods receipting and issuing documents are accurately and promptly processed. Monitor the warehouse billing status.
    • Ensure computerised administration and automated storage and retrieval systems are accurately maintained.
    • Analyse and provide the inventory report, IN/OUT status report, dead stock report, goods age report, consumption report, manpower status report to the Logistics Manager.
    • Audit daily labour and billing reports.
    • Warehouse Maintenance Management: Oversee the planned and unplanned maintenance of warehouse equipment.
    • Customers Service Level Management: Resolve issues encountered around damaged or short stock.

    Risk Management:

    • Ensure ISO compliance throughout the warehouse(s), including health and safety and food safety.
    • Conduct daily health inspections and risk compliance inspections incorporating: Forklift inspections, lighting inspections, reach truck inspections, facility inspections, damaged stock.
    • Participate in the risk committee and in HIRA work studies.
    • Ensure warehouse compliance with all national and provincial legislation and regulations, international SHERQ standards and with company policy.
    • Ensure the safeguarding of warehouse operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols.

    Job Description    

    RCL Foods is recruiting for a driven, highly energized and analytical Financial Administrator within the baking business unit.

    The suitable candidate will be responsible to provide accounting support and insight for the relevant customer principal/depot. To keep track of the business units financial transactions. Using standardized guidelines, the transactions are recorded, summarized, and presented in a financial report or financial statement.

    This role will be based in Pietermaritzburg and reporting to the Financial Manager.

    This role is a Permanent role.

    Minimum Requirements    

    • BComm / BComm Hons Degree or equivalent  preferably Accounting/SAICA/SAIPA

    Duties & Responsibilities

    Review Financial Records and Transactions

    • Reviews recorded entries for accuracy and proper account posting.
    • After examining the actual transactions made, review the books and records to ensure they accurately reflect the operating results of the business unit.
    • Organize company books and records in preparation for the annual outside audit of the business unit.

    Report to Senior Management

    • Report to the senior management team on all financial accounts.
    • Create reports for all financial transactions that relate to the business units.
    • Evaluate the meaning and trends shown by documents.
    • Interpret the impact of the accounting results on all aspects of the business units operations, including HR, Sales, Production, Distribution and Finance and Admin cost centres, using graphs and text narratives to complement the reported numbers.

    Management of Safety Health Environment and Risk Management:

    • Coordinates and inspects major contract work on the electrical, refrigeration, mechanical and plumbing, and other related systems.

    Maintenance: 

    • Ensure continuous improvement of the effective planned preventative maintenance system as well as oversee major repairs of the breakdowns thus minimising R&M costs.
    • Ensure all buildings and facilities comply to ISO22000 and FSSC 22000 requirements. Ensure all electrical equipment and installations are maintained or installed in accordance with statutory requirements and business needs.
    • Oversee repairs and maintenance on all other site utilities.

    Financial Management:

    • Manage costs to ensure lowest cost production and the optimal utilisation of assets.

    • Report on and manage all input costs and manage any over or underspend appropriately to ensure that issues are escalated before significant financial loss occurs.

    Millwright Artisan - Boksburg

    Job Description    

    RCL Foods is currently seeking a Millwright Artisan to join our Foods Division at SIQALO Foods. The role will be based in Boksburg and report to the Engineering Superintendent.

    The purpose of this role is to provide multidisciplinary engineering and operations skills to ensure general maintenance is carried out within prescribed guidelines. The role's responsibility includes installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical and mechanical plant machinery, equipment, and fixtures. It also ensures that work is in accordance with relevant codes of practice and standards.

    Minimum Requirements    

    • Completed N3 and relevant Trade Test Mechanical/Electrical/Millwright
    • Minimum 6 years of experience is required
    • Experience with high-speed packaging machinery and processing plant will be an advantage.

    Leadership

    Repairs and Maintenance

    • To ensure efficient and cost-effective maintenance of electrical and mechanical equipment and machinery in area of responsibility by assembling, installing, testing, inspecting, and maintaining by using of hand tools and power tools.
    • To be proactive in identifying potential faults/breakdowns before they occur by inspecting instruments and electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards and defects. 
    • Diagnoses and interprets problems (fault finding) to optimize production output and with own team carries out the plant repairs.
    • Makes recommendations for continuous improvement.
    • Involved in WCM activities. 
    • Ensures that service levels are maintained at the required standards by carrying out all breakdown, preventative, and predictive maintenance effectively.
    • Drive breakdown reductions by analysing breakdowns, complying with the PPM requirement and implementing Continuous improvements
    • Participates in strategic engineering plans to deliver maintenance and breakdown reduction benefits (RCM).
    • Identifies the major engineering losses in their area and investigates using Kaizen problem-solving methodology. (Fishbone, 5 Why, etc.)
    • Assist with drawing up, coach and develop engineering skills to other maintenance and operational staff using OPL and SOP’s.
    • Communicate outstanding job cards to Engineering Superintendent and Engineering Maintenance Planner.
    • Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.

     Storage and Maintenance of Tools

    • Monitor that power tools, hand tools, and maintenance equipment are kept in good working condition and stored safely.
    • Report broken tools/equipment to the Engineering Superintendent and Engineering Maintenance Planner.
    • Perform duties as per requirements to eliminate downtime or eliminate hazards/safety issues. 
    • Ensure that all tools are kept safe and in good working condition as well as update the tool register.

    General assistance to facilities staff

    • Manage and maintain your own toolbox.
    • Maintain workshops and stores.
    • Cleaning of the premises after maintenance.
    • Assist with ad-hoc projects and work.

    Minimum Requirements    

    • National Diploma or Degree in Human Resource Management, or equivalent.
    • Valid Code EB drivers’ licence
    • 2 years relevant or similar experience
    • Experience working in a unionised environment
    • SAP or alternative payroll system experience would be advantageous

    Duties & Responsibilities    
    Talent Administration:

    •  Provide all recruitment administration support for A and B appointments.
    •  Ensure all reference and criminal record checks are carried out fully and in a timely manner.
    •  Announce new appointments.
    •  Manage the new joiner process from offer letter through to joining instructions and induction.
    •  Provide HR support and advice to employees and line managers, explaining policies and procedures in a timely and effective manner.
    •  Handle maternity, paternity, adoption and parental leave processes and queries.
    •  Handle health, safety and IOD processes and queries.

    HR Administration:

    •  Administer the performance management system.
    •  Enter data into the HR system so that accurate records are maintained.
    •  Provide data for and prepare management information reports.
    •  Liaise with payroll and distribute the payslips. 
    •  Process medical aid / fund entries and withdrawals. 
    •  Process death and disability claim documents. 
    •   Capture disciplinary records into SAP.
    •  Administer the recording of absence.
    •   Administer the recording of vacation leave.
    •   Administer the probationary review periods.
    •  Maintain the personnel filing system and safeguard the files and documentation.
    •  Manage the leave administration process.
    •  Provide support in investigations for disciplinary and grievance procedures.
    •  Distribute/disseminate policies and convey related communication.
    •  Administer employee/study loan and bursary documentation.
    •  Answer all channelled HR administration-related queries from employees and managers in the business and ensure their resolution in accordance with service standards.

    Research and Design Intern - Pretoria West

    Job Description    

    RCL FOODS is seeking a highly motivated, results-driven, and analytical R&D Intern who is a quick learner and has strong interpersonal skills to join the R&D Team based in Pretoria West. 

    • The successful incumbent will gain in-depth experience in product development, lab comprehension, factory, and lab equipment knowledge within Beverage business. The R&D Intern will also be encouraged to explore other areas of interest to learn more about fundamentals and the general operations both within and outside of the assigned department that will be supplemental to the learning experience - e.g., Manufacturing and Quality departments. This position will be for a fixed period of 12 months

    Minimum Requirements    

    • Matric/ Grade 12
    • In the process of completing a Food Technology/ Food science qualification.

    Duties & Responsibilities

    CCTV Operator - Pretoria West

    Job Description    

    • RCL FOODS is seeking a CCTV Operator to join our Baking Division. The role will be based in our Pretoria Bakery in Pretoria West and will report to the Senior Risk Control Officer. The successfull candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all CCTV Cameras are fully operational and monitored at all times.

    Minimum Requirements    

    • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in the Security Industry and Control Room.
    • Grade 12 / Matric.
    • Grade A PSIRA (registered and accredited).
    • Craig Donald training will be advantageous or any equivalent competencies.
    • Computer Literacy in MS Office and CCTV.
    • Report writing skills.
    • Work independently and within a team.
    • Must be reliable and trustworthy.
    • CCTV Analytical Skills.

    Duties & Responsibilities    

    • Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machines and systems continue to run smoothly.
    • Handling of the Control Room equipment.
    • Update the incident register daily and report to the Senior Risk Control Officer.
    • Able to exercise and maintain discipline at all times.
    • Ensure good housekeeping is maintained in the Control Room.
    • Identify faulty cameras and log calls for maintenance when required.
    • Download and save important occurrence's on the server, on request.
    • Assist in analysing downloaded CCTVs during investigations.
    • Perform routine Facilities Inspections.
    • Perform Incident Investigations.
