    Financial Administrator - Pietermaritzburg

    Job Description    

    RCL Foods is recruiting for a driven, highly energized and analytical Financial Administrator within the baking business unit.

    The suitable candidate will be responsible to provide accounting support and insight for the relevant customer principal/depot. To keep track of the business units financial transactions. Using standardized guidelines, the transactions are recorded, summarized, and presented in a financial report or financial statement.

    This role will be based in Pietermaritzburg and reporting to the Financial Manager.

    This role is a Permanent role.

    Minimum Requirements    

    • BComm / BComm Hons Degree or equivalent  preferably Accounting/SAICA/SAIPA
    • Valid Driver’s Licence 
    • 3 years relevant experience in a similar role
    • Proficient in MSExcel
    • Previous experience of JDE or an ERP system advantageous.

    Duties & Responsibilities

    Review Financial Records and Transactions

    • Reviews recorded entries for accuracy and proper account posting.
    • After examining the actual transactions made, review the books and records to ensure they accurately reflect the operating results of the business unit.
    • Organize company books and records in preparation for the annual outside audit of the business unit.

    Report to Senior Management

    • Report to the senior management team on all financial accounts.
    • Create reports for all financial transactions that relate to the business units.
    • Evaluate the meaning and trends shown by documents.
    • Interpret the impact of the accounting results on all aspects of the business units operations, including HR, Sales, Production, Distribution and Finance and Admin cost centres, using graphs and text narratives to complement the reported numbers.

    Advise Management

    • After reviewing and analyzing the business unit’s books and records, feedback and advice must be offered to senior management, particularly relating to asset quality, liability position, cash flow sufficiency, and revenue/expense issues.
    • Also provide advice on the status and use of the business units resources, updates on the budget and results of projections in the business plan and the latest financial news that could affect unit operations.
    • Also advise senior management on HR, strategic planning, better control of expenditures, and/or business unit investments.

    Fixed Assets/Instalment Sale Agreements

    • Create Asset Approval requisition and ensure sign off
    • Post Invoice in general ledger
    • Create Asset Master number and fixed asset module transactions
    • Manage Capex projects and report on over expenditure against budget
    • Ensure ISAs are managed effectively 

    Long term Liabilities

    • Maintain Instalment sale agreement monthly register
    • Review the RNV account
    • Review inter-company balancing accounts for any errors in capturing 

    Bank

    • Capture Daily Bank Statement to JDE
    • Reconcile Bank Statement daily
    • Cash Flow Forecasts

    Creditors

    • Capture and match supplier invoices for stock purchases and inspect all documentation.
    • nsure Invoice complies with legislation (eg Vat Act)
    • Manage & review processing of standalone invoices captured by creditors clerk
    • Reconcile suppliers’ ledgers to Supplier Statement and resolve Discrepancies
    • Prepare monthly and weekly payments ensuring that all documents are attached and authorised for payment. Identify Optimum Payment Date
    • Raise month end Accruals for any expenses not captured via Invoices and any other ad hoc accruals and provisions
    • Complete and process Creditor Applications
    • Maintain supplier master data
    • Manage balance and capture all inter group transactions
    • Supply the creditors AP report to bookkeeper on a monthly basis reconciled to supplier statements
    • Review open POs 

    Finance

    • Balance sheet recons
    • Staff management
    • VAT calculations and reconciliations and submission of EMPs
    • Processing of month end general journals

    Manage outstanding PODs
