Senior Climate Change Consultant at Ibis ESG Consulting and Ibis CRM Consulting

Job description

We are looking to recruit an experienced and qualified climate change specialist to play a lead role in the further growth of our business, based in Johannesburg. We are looking for individuals with recognised climate change consulting experience, who will be expected to lead and build a climate change practice.

We are searching for an exceptional individual who has technical and management experience in:

• Greenhouse gas reporting
• Greenhouse gas data verification
• Energy and carbon mitigation
• On-site resource efficiency assessments
• Carbon policy understanding and development
• Physical climate change risk and adaptation assessments

Attributes required:

• Applicants should be self starters, enthusiastic and curious;
• Able to work independently, flexibly and organise own work load to deliver projects on time and to client’s expectations;
• On-site experience in delivering climate change projects in sectors such as food & beverage, chemicals, manufacturing, mining, oil & gas, power and infrastructure;
• Ability to work closely with client teams and deliver compelling presentations and reports;
• Able to travel as required to client’s facilities;
• Possess existing local market presence and client relationships which could lead to business opportunities;
• Build and sustain professional relationships both within the company and externally;
• Drive new business development within new and existing clients;
• Proactively build revenue pipeline and meet revenue targets;
• Transfer skills and knowledge to team members; and
• Prior experience in client facing / consulting roles.
• A minimum of 7 to 12 years’ practical experience delivering climate change projects within business. Consulting experience essential.
• Educated to at least a post graduate level in a scientific, engineering or business field combined with a high level of practical ability and experience.
• Proficient in English essential.
