    Employment Associate

    Job description

    An Associate role has become available within the Employment practice area. The candidate should meet the criteria listed below.

    QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

    • Minimum 3 - 4 years post articles employment and labour law experience
    • Relevant Law degree(essential) from a recognised tertiary institution with majors in Labour law and related courses; Relevant Postgraduate diploma/degree will be advantageous;
    • Qualified attorney admitted to practice in SA (essential).

    JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES

    • Drafting and reviewing relevant workplace agreements;
    • Building and maintaining relationships with clients;
    • Handling and interdicting strikes and strike related actions;
    • Labor Appeal Court, Labor Court and CCMA appearances;
    • Initiating and chairing internal disciplinary hearings;
    • Collective Bargaining and Industrial Relations;
    • Strategist on all employment and workplace related matters;
    • Employment Equity and discrimination disputes;
    • Opinion writing;
    • Advising on restructuring of companies Retrenchments/Redundancies;
    • Other general employment related matters.

    • Results driven: Ability to work well under pressure without compromising work quality or standards. Ability to handle high volumes as well as meet deadlines with the view to adding value to the business by delivering the required results.

    • Work Standards: Ability to produce consistent high quality work.
    • Communication: Strong communication & professional/legal writing skills.
    • Ethical: Display honesty and integrity at all times.
