    Business Process Analyst

    Job description

    The purpose of the position is to conduct complex business process analysis and process improvement through the provision of quality process mapping, modelling, reporting, analysis, audits and the development of plans and programmes that will support continuous improvement within client organisations. An incumbent in this role may act as a Project Manager on certain projects from time to time.

    Key Responsibilities and/or output areas include, but are not limited to:

    • Analysis of current process and/or requirements
      • Analysis of the existing business processes and workflows
      • Analysis of the existing technology and people environment supporting the processes
      • Identifying, gathering and categorizing requirements information
    • Business Process Modelling and Mapping
      • Analysing and constructing models/specifications of the business requirement or problem, as well as proposed solutions (As is/To be)
      • Participates in Business Process Modelling sessions, acting as a documentarian, cofacilitator, facilitator or subject matter expert in sketch sessions
      • Ensure appropriate review and sign off of process models and maps
      • Prepare and facilitate business process testing, including associated documentation
      • Process Improvement
      • Identify issues and risks in all processes (both current and proposed)
      • Conduct preliminary investigation into all project requests ï‚· Participate in root cause analysis in order to recommend product/process enhancements or other appropriate actions to improve productivity for both the business units and IT
    • Documentation and Reporting
      • Ensuring that all relevant documentation and reports are maintained and updated, including, but not limited to identifying and maintaining sources of requirements information
      • Organising and maintaining all information around the various models
      • Maintaining and updating project plans
      • Producing process models, maps and associated process artefacts
      • Providing written or oral reports as and when required
      • Stakeholder Engagement
      • Interaction with clients and colleagues around the entire project scope and all proposed process improvements
      • Conducts interviews and performs analysis in order to create Scope of Work documentation
      • Facilitating SME workshops
      • Utilises IQs CEM method to align the people processes and strategy within client operations to deliver on successful customer outcomes

    Education

    • Matric
    • BDegree in Business Science, Informatics or Engineering
    • Six Sigma, Lean Certification would be preferable

    Experience and Skills

    • 3 – 5 years’ Business Process Analysis experience
    • 3 or more years’ customer interface experience in both presentation and project oversight would be preferable
    • Strong skills in process mapping and business process re-engineering
    • Modelling tools (ARIS Advantageous)
    • Experience in retail, FMCG, Banking or Financial Services industry
    • MS Office
    • MS Visio or similar
    • MS Project
    • Experience managing in a matrix environment
    • Ability to provide on-the-job training and mentorship to employees using Process Methodologies and Techniques
