    Job description

    KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

    SUMMARY OF ROLE

    KPI’s: Develop, Report, and Monitor KPI’s and suggest improvements within Finance & Procurement

    • COST ANALYSIS: Conduct internal cost analysis of quality vs. cost and recommend actions
    • COMMERCIAL REVIEW: of contracts and pricing arrangements
    • CAPEX & PROJECT EVALUATION: evaluation of the NPV and decision to invest for projects and large items of CAPEX and ongoing project accounting and maintenance of the Fixed Asset Register
    • B-BBEE: Monitor B-BBEE Pillars for the Finance & Procurement departments & make suggestions to improve and embed BEE into the company’s procurement processes
    • SYSTEMS REVIEW: Review the internal systems of financial control and recommend improvements
    • KPI’s & COST ANALYSIS
      • Analysis of the manufacturing operations and variances such as price vs. usage variances
      • Develop, maintain & monitor KPI’s relating to efficiency & effectiveness of the company’s procurement function & recommend improvements
      • Obtain performance data to monitor & evaluate key suppliers, contractors & service providers
      • Realize & quantify cost savings together with improved terms and quality of supplier goods & services
      • Overhead efficiency variance analysis
      • Responsible for providing timely and insightful information and analysis to foster a proactive approach to managing the cost of production
      • Liaise with budget holders to deliver cost reductions, quality improvements or security of supply outcomes
    • COMMERCIAL REVIEW and PROJECT EVALUATION
      • Participate in the evaluation of capital projects to assist with the decision to invest.
      • Participate in the commercial and contractual evaluation of tenders and RFQ’s relating to capital projects
      • Ongoing monitoring of projects and participation on project steering committees
      • Ongoing monitoring of the fixed asset investments and maintenance of the Fixed Asset Register
    • SYSTEMS REVIEW
      • Review systems of internal control and recommend improvements to reduce risk and improve efficiency
    • B-BBEE
      • To help develop and implement the BEE strategy of the company with respect to the Supplier Development and Enterprise Supplier Development pillars including preferential procurement
      • To embed the BEE strategy within all the company’s procurement processes

    Qualifications and Experience Required:

    • CA(SA) or BComm Honours
    • Experience in a pharmaceutical or manufacturing industry advantageous
    • Commercial or contracting experience advantageous
    • Knowledge of enterprise and supplier development under the B-BBEE codes of good practice advantageous

    Technical Competencies required:

    • Cost and Variance analysis
    • KPI Development
    • Processes Development and Review
    • Statistical and Technical report writing
    • Excel at intermediate to advanced level
    • Knowledge of the revised BEE code of Good practice
    • Knowledge of Contracts & Commercial arrangements
    • Ability to work with people at all levels within the organisation
