Process Engineer at The South African Breweries (SAB)

Job description

The key purpose of this role is to scope, define (from first principles) and implement brewery manufacturing systems to stabilize the technical integrity of the brewery.

Key responsibilities include (but not limited to):

• Apply engineering principles in assisting brewery production teams to achieve optimal plant performance.
• Provide line support for situational and systemic problem solving
• Execute identified process optimization initiatives and process capability studies
• Provide design support for regional capital projects
• Support the execution for regional capital projects
• Lead Process Engineering CAPIN projects in the brewery
• Provide coaching to process engineering trainees
• Assist with the identification and closure of brewery technological gaps
• Manage, co-ordinate and implement improvement projects to ensure optimization of brewery plant and process
• Support process audits with regards to process engineering standards
• Apply knowledge of sustainable development priorities

Competence requirements:

• Graduate Mechanical/Electrical/Chemical Engineer with a minimum of 3-4 years’ experience in an engineering environment
• 1-2 years process engineering experience including design, commissioning and performance testing
• Played key role in regional plant and process design, including design and equipment specifications, HAZOP’s, CFS and performance acceptance testing
• Understanding of brewery plant, process, controls & automation, design and commissioning
• Team player with outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
