Job description

Job Purpose

To manage the implementation of one or more projects, from project scope definition through to the Project Implementation Review.

Outputs and Accountabilities

• Define, plan and deliver the expected business outcomes for each project
• Ensure the quality of the project deliverables through the deployment of adequate quality controls through the project phases
• Manage and mitigate project risks and issues and escalate when required to appropriate levels of management
• Facilitate communication with all relevant business, IT, operations and senior stakeholders
• Ensure that lines of communication are open at appropriate levels within the project team as well as between the project team and the direct project stakeholders
• Provide appropriate project reporting to the relevant meeting forums and steering committees in line with agreed information requirements within a frequency that is agreed beforehand

Qualifications and Experience

Qualifications:

• Degree in Business, Science or Technology required
• Certification in Project Management required - PRINCE2 Practitioner and or Project Management Professional (PMP)
• Agile Project Management experience required

Knowledge:

• Financial services and/or Insurance working experience required
• Must have experience of managing Business and IT projects, and a combination thereof
• Must be proficient in project governance and reporting
• Thorough knowledge of IT and Project Management Methodologies
• Proficiency with Microsoft Project and Microsoft Office suite
• Understand interplay of people, process and technology
• Understand drivers of business, strategy and technology

Experience:

Minimum 6 to 7 years project management experience required
