    Technicals Sales- Power Generator

    Job description

    Due to anticipated exiting growth opportunities specific to our range of commercial & industrial diesel generator sets, we are currently interviewing highly motivated and enthusiastic Technical Sales personnel with the aim of joining our dynamic team. Technical Sales are responsible for driving technical sales targets, objectives and operational deliverables, including basic technical site assistance if / when required. The main focus is achieving maximum sales profitability, growth and account penetration.

    This opportunity is best suited to a technically inclined individual who has a “hands-on” approach, is innovative and solution driven. A strong entrepreneurial outlook coupled with a high level of energy and willingness to “go that extra mile” would ensure rapid career growth.

    Technical generator sales / service experience is critical while any inverter/PV experience will be an additional benefit.

    Reporting will be to the Managing Director and preferably residence will in the Pretoria/Centurion area.

    Responsibilities:

    • You would drive sales growth through technical “value sales” of our products and services.
    • You would “hit the numbers” and meet (or preferably exceed) your sales targets, hence increasing our market share.
    • You need to manage and also pro-actively anticipate customer requirements.
    • We strive to provide the most suitable product and/or service to satisfy our client’s needs, hence your accurate selection and solutions presentations would be critical.
    • You would need to maintain existing relationships with customers while establish your own new relationships, thereby growing a pipeline of loyal “fans”.
    • We service a number of critical markets, hence rapid responses to any sales leads, customer requests and queries is crucial.
    • Your consistent planning & organizing of sales call schedules and execution of weekly schedules via efficient route planning would be part of your normal routine.
    • You would need to do accurate cost estimates followed by professional quotations (via Pastel) / proposals.
    • Your assertiveness, confidence and negotiation skills would greatly assist you in closing sales and agreeing to mutual acceptable terms and conditions (in line with you responsibility level).
    • Your after-sales support services are the lifeblood of our organization and would be a very important aspect.
    • Co-coordinating and/or planning sales projects would form part of your regular routine.
    • We expect active participation in our weekly meetings.
    • Submission of reports would of course form part of your planning (site visits, monthly technical sales reports incl competition activity, market trends, etc.).
    • You would be able to plan, organize, prioritize and effectively multi-task on a daily basis in order to meet deadlines and service customer needs.
    • Participation in all marketing promotions and product initiatives (incl. attending trade shows, conferences, etc.) goes without saying.

    Requirements:

    • Qualification: qualified electrician (incl. red seal).
    • Experience: 5 – 10 years technical sales and/or services experience with diesel power generators.
    • At least an EB drivers’ license without any endorsements.
    • Have valid passport and be prepared to travel internationally.
    • Microsoft office with a broad understanding of Excel, Word and Power Point.
    • Drive to maintain professional and technical knowledge (e.g. attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies; etc.)

    Remuneration:

    Market related and dependent on qualification and experience.
