    General Manager (Truck Centre)

    Job description

    The main purpose of the job includes, but is not be limited to, planning, motivating and coordinating the dealership’s management through effective leadership and solid business practices. Ensuring customer satisfaction, profitability and the achievement of the financial plan in the Truck Centre area of responsibility.

    Reporting: This position will report to the Director: Aftermarket.

    Job Objectives

    • The hiring of all management positions (in the Truck Centre area of responsibility), and the completion of performance evaluations on a regular basis.
    • To achieve according to business plan, the objectives for the workshop, parts and extended offerings within the Truck Centre area of responsibility.
    • Effectively communicating with the Regional Business Controller to ensure consistency with projections.
    • Coordinating regular meetings with the managers of each department to ensure their profitability and efficiency.
    • To meet or exceed planned performance for the Truck Centre/s area of responsibility against the following KPI’s:
    • Parts sales and GP
    • Workshop sales and GP
    • Materials & Conversions
    • S & A Control
    • Aftermarket absorption
    • Operating Income/Margin
    • Customer Satisfaction.
    • To implement regional strategies within their area of responsibility
    • To manage, develop and motivate staff within the Truck Centre area of responsibility in accordance with Company policy.
    • Overseeing and maintaining compensation plans for all employees.
    • Focusing on any customer complaints that department managers are unable to rectify and taking the necessary steps to resolve these complaints.
    • Ensure that all Volvo policies within the Truck Centre area of responsibility are adhered to.
    • Ensure that all Dealers within the Truck Centre area of responsibility are run as efficiently as possible.
    • Liaise with relevant Head Office personnel where necessary.
    • Overall responsibility for leading and managing the Region within the established guidelines, policies and procedures.

    Qualifications

    Relevant Business Degree/Industry experience.

    Job Experience

    Minimum 5 years industry management experience (preferably commercial trucks).
